Iowa Football Recruiting

No it's not, I'm asking if you like a policy or not. We know YeahBuddy will say yes he loves all things Iowa including Barta but I figured you could have your own opinion

Im guessing you are just gonna troll this, but no the Iowa recruiting policy doesn't bother me. Iowa doesn't make any offers and doesn't use pressure tactics to get commits. So it is a lot different than a CMC or Fleck, and I am OK with that.

I'm not going to troll it at all, I just think it's stupid to not let kids visit after they commit with how things work today. I think it costs them more recruits than it saves them so I'm all for them keeping it

The policy isn't about keeping recruits it is about is someone willing to buy into the Iowa program or not.

Hasn't Iowa signed kids that took visits after committing before though?

Yes, the larger issue comes in to play if the kid takes another visit without letting the coaches know.

Committed kids have cleared visits with the staff prior to taking them and still signed with Iowa, Riley Reiff is the big one that comes to mind.

So why have the policy then?

The policy is just part of the Iowa recruiting process. Sure kids take unofficial visits after committing and do so in full communication with the Iowa coaches. The only time this is an issue is when transparent communication doesn't take place or when it is an official visit. Official visits are more tricky in that they are limited in number for both the schools and the prospects and often entail much different experiences.

It appears you on the other hand want to make the policy something it is not.

So kids can take unofficial visits after committing but can't take official visits? Lol

Because it is a piece of the Iowa program. It is part of the culture Iowa wants to have. If isu doesn't want it that way so be it. In the end, on field success or lack there of it speak for themselves.

So I see you are back to picking and choosing what reality to accept.

Shocker.

No that is just stupid. I don't get why a kid can go on an unofficial visit after committing and that's just fine but if it's an official visit the offer gets pulled.

Has a ISU kid verbaled to ISU, then taken other visits? Does that happen a lot? If so, what % of the time do they end up signing with ISU?

JUst curious, seems odd that you want your verbal commits to take other visits? Doesn't CMC try to talk them out of that, or does he encourage them to take other visits?

Yes.

I don't know.

You don't want them to or encourage them to
