I'm guessing it was removed by the winds. Damn that sounded bad on the news last night 70-100mph flat line winds.
Not the whole tree. It peeled off a lower limb leaving a gash about 3 1/2 feet long and almost half of that part of the trunk so it might as well just taken it down. I remember planting that tree and the other ash as a couple of little sticks about 15 years ago.

Went and saw the Tupac movie last night. It was ******* terrible. It's like someone said "Hey, we want to play 40 2Pac songs, how should we do that? I know! Let's make a movie!"

It was legit terrible (not that I expected much, but my love for 2Pac clouded my judgement.) Also, me and the girl I went with were literally the only white people in the theater.

Nice humble brag

I finally got my fat ass on the bike. Rode about 25 miles through the park - I'm not sure exactly due to computer flaking out on me and detours on the trail. Did it in 1:23 which wasn't too bad, but my legs were screaming at me on the last little climb over the overpass when nearing home. The hills are definitely telling me that I have work to do. Chuck City to Cresco to Waukon to Lansing has a few bumps to contend with.

I swear, if I end up sitting next to you again... ;)

@Cybirdy did I see that your SB team won at least one tonight?

Yup, possibly our lone conference win for the year. I know Nevada is in about the same situation we are (young team, new coach, not a lot of experience), and when we played there we got the Nevada refs. Hubby (and the rest of our fans) were not happy with officiating that night. So a redeeming win at home last night. Also picked up a win today at a tournament. Game was called on account of time, but we were ahead at the end of 90min. Then got 10 run ruled the next game.

@stormchaser2014 when you cut down a tree near a house what precautions do you take to ensure it falls the right way? (preferably away from the house).
The tree I have to cut down definitely has a slight lean in the wrong direction. I didn't know if you guys used a winch or something to pull it more towards where you want it to fall. I know about cutting a notch out of the bottom to try to get it to go where you would like it to fall.

Yep, notch it and tie a rope to it and pull it with a truck. We leave some weight on it too to aid in dropping it if possible.

This is why old man Boxster cannot bike with real road biker dudes. They average 18 mph when they haven't even been out training. I can hit 18 mph on downhill runs. I hate young strong guys. :p

You biking the full meal deal RAGBRAI or picking up mid-state and heading east?

The precaution is that you hire professionals to do it. Not even kidding since I have had two friends get hurt bad* doing the DIY stuff on tree removal or big branch stuff. Just ain't worth it.

Preach it Boxster!

* Edit: Two ER runs, one chainsaw laceration and one badly broken ankle. Not even counting the old dude that was trimming trees from his daughters roof a few doors away who fell off the roof and died.

My pleasant days of JV may be coming to an end. Daughter got thrown into the mess in a blow out. Would have held them scoreless for her time (threw like crap so I'm not bragging) but with two outs the starting pitcher drops a pop fly at second and two runs cross afterwards. She bats and gets a nice hit that was one of two or three. Gets the only RBI of the game. If she DHs or plays second, I will be OK, just not pitch.
