Iowa Football Recruiting

You do sacrifice some things in order To get a unique experience. Yes things are spread out. But I'd rather walk further and have a unique experience over just having things closer to me.

Cone fans are trying to say an efficient parking lot is the best tailgating experience. That is like saying the best place to eat is a mess hall (most effiecent) or chain restaurants (cheapest with blah food). Or the best house to buy is a track house (most efficient to build and best bang for the buck)

I totally agree, Ames tailgating is more efficient than Iowa City, but overall it lacks the charm and character that Iowa City offers.

The charm and character of slumlords that tell there tenants they have to move their cars on game day so they can sell spots on their yards and put in a half dozen kybos and then fence off the yard and then charge admittance. Typical charm and character that Iowa City offers, yep.

Lol you guys are bragging about this kid?

Awesome that Iowa got such a great athletic talent to play football and baseball. Also awesome that he won't count against the stricter baseball scholarship limit.

So would you rather have a football recruit with no P5 offers that was an MLB prospect or just a regular football recruit with multiple P5 offers?

According to @HawkeyeMashup this is not as good as option as walking miles to see people

You need to learn to read. Walking in Iowa City >> Close to the stadium at Ames.

Also I've been to tailgates right next to the stadiums in both Iowa City and Ames. Neither were any more impressive because they were close to the stadium. Not sue how that makes it better?

I just like drinking beer outside while eating cooked meats with friends. IDGAF about where I do it.

Never said this.

I said I would rather have a unique experience over being close. That is making a choice, not saying one or either is bad, just one is better than the other

Please explain why tailgating at Iowa is such a unique experience? If you mean by being spread out for miles, it is unique in that aspect. I would much rather tailgate at ISU than Iowa. At least at ISU everyone is in area in about a square mile or less that is it fairly easy to walk to someones tailgate. At UI, if you are let's say, Melrose Ct. and you have friends tailgating at the Hawkeye Storage lot, are you going to be able to tailgate with them?

We tailgated in the hospital parking ramp 3 years ago (would not recommend unless you have no place to get to for at least an hour or two after a game), when ISU beat Iowa. We had a group of people tallgating on Newton Road just north and east of Carver Hawkeye and there is no easy route to get there. If this is what you mean by unique, then have a ball. Not what I considered a unique experience.

Last year though, we parked on a lawn at Melrose Ct. now that was a different/unique experience! Watching 3 ambulances trying to get down the street at different times throughout the day through a sea of people and watching drunk Iowa fans yell crap at us about being cyclone fans. Whenever they said something, we came up with "Jesus loves you" reply. Talk about fans at a loss for words after that. That was some funny s***!!
