The Bird and The Bee did a cover tribute album dedicated to Hall and Oates songs and it's amazing.
Dude, I LOVE The Bird and the Bee's cover album! I love all of their stuff I've encountered - their cover of "How Deep Is Your Love" is better than the original.
If Janny won't, I'll totally go to a Hall and Oates concert with you, Angie.
Next time they're anywhere in the tri-state area, it's so on. Because you're awesome. Seriously, anyone who recognizes the pop genius of Darryl Hall and John Oates is the best.
Might seem like an odd question, but has The Book of Mormon ever been in Des Moines or just in Iowa generally...? Trying to convince my wife (one born in Wisconsin that grew up in Florida) that Iowa is "cultured' and has such relevant amenities; a stopover in Iowa would help my portfolio/case considerably towards moving back her with there in the next few years.
Oh I, I'll do anything that you want me to do, oh.

Turnpike troubadours killed it tonight. Great show and great venue in downtown DM.
They sure did.
I've never seen ISU gear so badly outnumber Iowa gear at a public non-sporting event outside of Ames. I also saw people wearing gear of every Big 12 school save Baylor, TCU, and WVU.
Turnpike is among my go-to "farming music", and the crowd definitely backed that up. Something about it seems so right with wide open skies, dust flying, and machinery rolling.
I noticed the gear too. A lot of Kansas State gear especially it seemed. I just don't think of wearing Iowa state gear to a concert I guess.
Lots of Iowa state gear out at the restraunts, bars, and farmers market though.
Oooo that sounds like a good show! I have heard good things about the Palace Theater. I am seeing Gary Clark Jr. there in August. Not a summer concert, but I just got my tickets for Iron and Wine at the Palace Theater in St. Paul in October. This will be my fourth time seeing him. The Palace Theater sounds like it's a neat venue that just recently re-opened after being closed for a long time, so I'm looking forward to it.

Hinterland has a fantastic lineup this year! I am jealous you are going.Nice. I'm most excited to see Ryan Adams, but I suspect Gary Clark Jr. is going to steal the show at Hinterland.
You, you make my dreams come true (ooh ooh).
