Iowa Football Recruiting

There it is again. Clone fan still can't figure out how a top 25 poll works.

When one of the best players in school history at a self proclaimed basketball school s only good enough to play in the d-league it figures you would know even less about how college football works.

Are you saying that good college basketball or football players are only good if they have long pro careers and that's how it works? What a stupid thing to say.

One of Iowa's most prolific NFL draft picks (Gallery) had a wonderful Iowa career, good dude, etc., made plenty of money and got drafted high but he never quite got there as an NFL player.

Tim Tebow is one of the most decorated college players ever and....not an NFL player. There's a long, long list of good players in both sports that never made much happen for pro careers, and it didn't matter.

Brad Banks was a great college QB that anyone would have been lucky to have

I've actually been told very different from close ties. Benefited from a great Oline/running game and they had to basically break it down for him to just have something like 2 reads in the flats or just beyond on the roll out.

I think they guy was a good character person and strong leader though and his senior year was fun to watch from an outside perspective so nothing wrong with what he did.

There's only two top 10 college players in the state and that's Jewell and Lazard so why don't we just talk about them? We can talk about Ryen and Wadley more when they've earned it. I think Jewell is going to have a monster year FWIW

Wadley had nearly 1400 yards from scrimmage, Ryen had about 400, and 1 rushing atempt all year. But besides those two things, yeah they are the same player.

I think there is a lot more truth to that statement, than you would like to believe. Texas will not want to fall too far below Texas A&M. I think they eventually make a move to the SEC or PAC 12.
I'm not saying they won't eventually move, but I highly doubt they are overly concerned with falling below A&M.

Especially if things go the way it looks like they will for the football team. Charlie came in, cleaned house like he was(at least partially) hired to do, and then they hired the hottest name in college football.

Now if Herman fails, you might be correct.

Wadley also ran through and around a team (in Michigan) that had three less NFL draft picks than the ENTIRE Big 12....but I'm sure UM would have finished in the middle of the Big 12.

I know I was right on Ernst and Bowie. I think I was right on Kasango. I was wrong on Carter

You were wrong on Carter and Holden. A funny exchange with you and Buddy in the closed Iowa recruiting thread where @YeahBuddy made fun of Holden's stats and you claimed he would be "solid" at IsU Lol, too bad I can't copy and paste a locked thread. Seems you were pretty high on Holden. So basically out of 5 players you were wrong about Carter, Holden and Bowie, as you thought they would all be good. LOL at your 95% correct claim, when you batted 40% on these 5.

When did I ever say "meh" when it comes to Dembele? I think Dembele will end up being a pretty good player but Holden would help a lot more next year. Plus we're not even recruiting Dembele very hard and we're going to put the full court press on Holden so put it together who the staff thinks is a bigger need.

My guess:

Monte
Naz
Matt
Burton
Holden

Bench:
Jackson
Bowie
Babb or Long
Lard

Wadley was a backup RB. He doesn't deserve to be in the same conversation as Lazard and Jewell

Well respected talent evaluators see Wadley as a tremendous player. Lazard can't even outrun a 2 star MLB recruit from Iowa.

Cy Twins can't evaluate talent or post links to support his BS it is all about gifs, myths and derp.

He was a backup and still racked up nearly 1400 yards from scrimmage. He also out rushed the starter Daniels while having 45 less rushes. Wow, that is incredible!

@CyTwins was right about only 2 of these 5 (Carter, Holden, Bowie, Ernst, and Kasongo), the ones he actually said were reaches. He then pretends he was right about 4 of the 5, too bad for him this site has a search function. All 5 of those guys were clear reaches by Prohm. Just like Beverly, Brase, and Jacobson are (who once again @CyTwins is trying to tout as good gets). He will be wrong about those 3 as well.

Better question is why does a self proclaimed "basketball school" ever have to reach so often for recruits? Not something Cy Twins will answer for us.

He's not even a top 10 player! Him and Ryen are good players for little guys but let's cool on the "tremendous" talk. Save that for Lazard and Jewell

I was right on Bowie, Ernst and Kasongo. To predict 2 out of 4 busts on your own team is actually pretty impressive and objective.

Real basketball schools don't have to reach on as many recruits as isu does. On top of that most of them don't recruit TE's from UTSA either.

When will Lazard have enough speed to out run a 2 star MLB recruit from Iowa?

Lazard and Jewell are studs so I'm not sure what the question is. They will be by far the best players on the field when ISU and Iowa play and it's not close.
