Just a few things to report for you guys today, this being the first.

A few other quick notes...

--- Hearing ISU will pay New Mexico transfer Elijah Brown a visit tomorrow. Sounding like Brown will hopefully visit Iowa State after his trip to Oregon. This is fluid. Stay tuned.

--- ISU is very hopeful that Daryl Edwards commits this weekend. However it sounds like he might be taking an additional visit to UNLV too.

--- ISU hoping to get Shakur Juiston on campus next weekend. Also very fluid.

--- And a new name to watch ... Wright State grad transfer Mark Alstork.

A lot going on in the next couple of weeks.

Juiston + Morrow + Edwards + either Brown or Alstork would be unreal

Really interesting that we look like we might go with two sit out transfers. Going to be fun seeing how this all comes together the next few weeks, love this time of year.

Is Shayok a take this weekend if he wants to commit?

We might, but my guess is still one. Particularly if we sign Edwards.

With Juiston being the only forward for next year that we're seemingly in on right now, the staff must feel pretty good about their chances and Lard and Kasongo being ready next year to be good Big 12 players.

And Solomon -- he has become death, the destroyer of worlds.

Our style calls for 4ish guards, 2ish wings, and 2ish posts, so I can understand their emphasis on the front court with the names we are hearing.

Is Edwards a two-year guy if we land him?

I think it's more about who is available. We were also mentioned with Cam Johnson, even if that is a loooong shot

Yeah, I'm already banking on Young being a good Big 12 forward. It wasn't a post of concern, but of optimism. The staff doesn't back of jucos with P5 offers in early March unless they don't see it as a big need.

We like to play small, and that works when you have a Burton, but do we really want to go extended minutes of Babb or Lewis in that role?
And for those positionless folks, this is more about defense and rebounding than anything. There's a difference between versatility and not having anyone at that position. Teams still need to get the production that a forward traditionally brings regardless of what label you want to use.

Edwards is for two.
