Shakur Juiston on njcaatv.com tonight

You think the ever evolving evaluation of roster situations/need being intertwined with recruiting is conjecture?

Bottom line what I'm saying is you don't know the circumstances of Bragg leaving are tied to their confidence in landing Juiston. You don't know this, I don't know this. Certainly recruiting is tied to roster situations at some level, but not at a level we know the details on, like some are proclaiming. Conjecture on OUR part.

Thinking Brown/ Edwards is an either or situation.

Brown Shaykh Juiston with another stretch four but with range would be the ideal outcome IMO.
Why? It would spread out our scholarships and avoid something like we had this year, which does have its pros and cons.

Wigginton, McNeill
Long
Babb, Edwards
Jackson, Brown

Balancing the scholarships is way overrated. Get the best available period.

The reason I say Edwards and Brown is unlikely is the same reasoning on why Juiston may pass on KU. Transfers want to start Brown wigginton Jackson would be a tough lineup to crack.

If Edwards comes great but he may prefer a different opinion if everything falls our way.

It's nice to have some balance, but with Jackson as our only SR, we would have to take 3-4 grad transfer guys before it would be unbalanced.

I agree get the best available. You already took 3 (4 with Lard) HS kids in this class.

Whatever combination of Juco/transfers you take from here out shouldn't get us that top heavy.

With Jeremiah Tilmon asking to be released from his Illinois LOI, Illinois is going to go full press after Juiston...guy is getting some high level attention.

Naturally several KU fans are around him daily. More thoughts from them on the KU board:

Juiston wasn't even starting for Hutch last season, and he is now being talked about as their all-time player, so I think it's fair to say that he "blew up" as a sophomore, as unlikely as that trajectory may seem. Kudos to Iowa State for seeing the potential last year. I've talked with some long, long-time Hutch Juco fans who go back to the '60s that say he is the best they have ever had, which includes Kadeem Allen (2nd-team All-Pac 12 this year)...He dominated the national tournament, which is full of guys that are going to play D-1. (Typically at that level, each team will 5 or more future D-1 players, albeit often at the Murray States of the world.) I would actually be a little cautious in reading into that that he will start from day one at KU. He can't shoot from outside about 8 feet and Juco defense is not high D-1 defense... if you give him 27 min/g, he is going to get 8 rebounds next year at D-1, plus he will have several "wow" plays per game where you think, man, if this kid could only shoot. I think conservative expectations for him next year would be: 1st big off the bench, 22 min/g, 5 pts/g, 6 reb/g, 2 assists/g, 1.3 steals+blocks. Not an impact player, necessarily, but reliable and has a plus-plus skill in rebounding that earns him minutes. Starts as a senior, maybe 12 & 9, and that may be lowballing his rebounding.

I did see Mario Little play at nationals; Shakur is hands-down better
6'7", high motor, good rebounder, can't shoot outside 8 feet. They basically just described Jamari Traylor.

Did Underwood keep some of the assistants from previous staff? That could keep them in the race at least some.
Unfortunately he did, my mistake. Walker was retained. Former player and assistant for Juiston's current coach. Martin at MU made a run to get Walker (likely for Tillmon). That would have been nice.

Sure. I dont really care where he goes. I am sure Self will find someone who will be able to give us what we need. Juiston isnt the only PF available in the sport.

Who do you want for PF now is you don't care about getting Juiston?

31 wins, winning the toughest top to bottom conference in America by 4 games and an Elite Eight is "less"? Yowsa.
When I think of guys like Bragg and Alexander, or the countless other four and five stars, I definitely think of turning straw into gold.

Hopefully Juiston doesn't sign up for the KU big man curse.
