Seemingly never ending Iowa MBB thread (still going.....)

It is like some of you don't thing there is basketball outside of the Big12. I also can't believe you all don't understand the committee looks at each team independent of conference, it isn't all the same, even
In a round robin setup.

Baylor played 8 conference teams
With a top 50 RPI. And 13 against top 100 RPI. Conference SOS #39

Iowa played 8 conference teams with a top 50 RPI and 14 vs top 100 RPI. Conference SOS #50

Michigan played 10 conference teams with top 50 RPI and 18 vs top 100 RPI. Conference SOS #30

West Virginia conference SOS #48
Kansas Conference SOS #49
ISU conference SOS #22

The committee looks are each resume independent. Other "weaker" conferences face tougher schedules as they are unbalanced.

The only thing unbalanced schedules do is create confusion on who is actually good in a league. These conferences like the ACC and Big 10 have manipulated this perfectly to get as many teams in the tourney as possible.

I mean, who honestly knows who the best team in the Big 10 is this year? Purdue? Wisconsin? Michigan? The 8th place team won the tourney.

In conferences like the Big East and Big 12 there is a clear cut line on which teams are good.

Towards the adults that have become incensed by this-- I just get back to the idea that Connor and Patrick have and will continue to have their moments in the sun. This kid is headed to relative obscurity at Upper Iowa. Let him have his moment without throwing a fit.

Also, it's high school basketball. Have some ******* perspective.

What t shirts?

Not sure what you are talking about.

also there is this big logo on the court that says "Big 12 Championship". ESPN also puts "Big 12 Championship" on their screen. The winning team gets hats that say say "Big 12 Champs". All done by the league, not ISU. There must be something to it.

I'm starting to think you're an idiot.

Well thought out and logical response.

Different teams in even in the same conference face a different SOS, even in the Big12. That is why each team is looked at independent of conference. As I showed Michigan played a tougher conference SOS than did Baylor, WVU, and Kansas, And Iowa was right WVU and Kansas.

I agree, but even within the Big12 you got ISU playing the #22 conference SOS vs WVU and Kansas #48 and 49.

No ****. Nobody is disputing that. But you're saying that a conference doesn't matter, when it clearly does. I laid it out clearly for you in a well thought out and logical response, and you continued posting the same stupid ********.

Pretty sure when they announced bids, they said we were Big 12 Champions and KU was at-large. At least that's what my newspaper said.

Iowa high school basketball is a big time money maker. That's why we have literally dozens of D1 players and NBA all stars. Why wouldnt the mr basketball race be up for grab$$$

This is true. Cashiering a HS boys basketball game ticket booth, I came up $4.75 short. It was a big deal.

Not true. This whole thing started because some were claiming that the Big12 and how tough it was lead to the good seeds ISU has gotten over the last few years. I simply said good team and their resume earn he seeds. This seems to upset some I guess, I can't for the life of me figure out why.

Of course SOS is a consideration, but if you think all Big12 conference SOS are better than other schools you are incorrect. Minnesota and Michigan both have tougher conference SOS than Baylor, WVU, and Kansas.

So basically my whole arguement this whole time is there isn't some committee attitudes that since a team is in the Big12 therefore their conference SOS is better than everyone else so we will just bump their seeding up. It doesn't work that way, each team is looked at individually. This is common sense and I can't believe there is any push back at all on this.

What was Texas and Oklahoma's conference SOS?
