The sad part is I think they truly believe that shizzle. They have douchecanoe "journalists" like Leisty and Hassell telling them it is so.
In fairness, I think we need to let the Hawk trolls tell us about their march to the national championship.
Some hawkeye fans are comparing Bohannon to Hinrich. It is no joke.
You don't think JoBo will be named 2nd team all NBA defender meaning he's one of the ten best defensive basketball players on the planet? That'll happen for sure.
fran and iowa are a perfect match. they're always going to be juuuuuust good enough so that hawks get excited, but never quite good enough to make us worry they're on to something.

I honestly don't think that group will ever make it to the tournament. They aren't very good, and their coach is even worse. I don't expect much development.
The thing is the traditional Big 10 powers arent going to suck this bad forever. Then you have up and coming programs like Minnesota and Northwestern. I think Iowa will be fighting for 8th place every year. These Iowa fans think the team exists in a vacuum and that other teams wont add more talented players around them while their freshman become all Big 10.
I think fighting for 8th is being kind. They will be towards the bottom fighting with Rutgers and Penn State.

It is where they were with Alford though so I expect the Express Train to 'Pack Your Bag's' starts to roll next year. Remember, this is a fan base that ran Tom Davis out of town and that Lute Olson couldn't wait to run from.
We have to temper our expectations - Still say Franny Pants has one, maybe two years left. They probably qualify for NCAA next year as one of 7 B1G teams do, lose in first round. I think the wheels come off the following year though. That is the year Hok Fan will expect the Final Four run and I bet they are 3 seed in the NIT.
The b1g should be much improved next year, there were a ton of young teams. Everyone besides Michigan, Purdue and Wisky brings a ton back next year. The Hawks bring a lot back but there are 4 or 5 teams that bring back more, without losing their leading scorer.
