Seemingly never ending Iowa MBB thread (still going.....)

You guys are ripping on ISU fans for a small minority wanting Prohm gone, but meanwhile you have a 20 page thread over on Jon Millers site asking how much longer Fran gets? Hypocrites!!
Fran needs more sons, probably gets until Pat's SO year at least.

Are nominations open yet for most pathetic troll job of the year ?
It would be tough to beat out the "Monte isn't a good passer" troll. I mean I know Iowa fans are pretty dumb and don't know anything about basketball, but that takes stupid to new heights.

That's the thing. In college basketball now, every season is a new season with new players. Sure ISU loses a ton, and Iowa brings back a ton, but these days a team like ISU can go out and bring in a quick infusion of talent in the form of graduate transfers or JUCOs.

ISU brings back Jackson, Babb, Young, and Jakolby Long.... plus are bringing in one of the best PG's in the nation in Wigginton, as well as Terrance Lewis, Darius McNeil, and Cameron Lard. Add to that a couple more transfers or JUCOs and you never know what kind of team ISU could be putting out there.
Agreed. I think our team next year will be inconsistent but REALLY fun to watch. There's a TON of talent there.

Hey guys, Peter Jok is a better passer, shooter, and defender than Monte. He'll probably get drafted in the lottery.

Maybe it's a dognuts alt with the Morris and Gessell are pretty much a wash thing.

I wish I had that gif of Monte's perfect, half-court bounce pass for a transition layup in the NCAA tournament (as a freshman), to show just how bad of a passer Monte really is.

"I hate how you guys took on POS players that were kicked off of teams for good reasons to build what you have now. Iowa should be taking over it's rightful place once again going forward. Enjoy your last chance at a long run next week. Back to reality with Fred being gone and not lowering his standards to accommodating players kicked off at times not once but even twice from other programs and molding/shaping rules/regs to accommodate said cast off. The story from a year or 2 ago about residences in an apartment building where a few of said cast offs were housed that they were to contact Fred first over the Police was freaking comical."

That thread was so awesome that Jeff broke out HerkyFan and his alt Historicames.

This thread has been very entertaining. I'm going to miss it. I think everyone can finally see that Iowa is a complete joke in basketball and their fans will spend much less time on here. Next year after we stomp them in both football and basketball, we have to worry about hok fans coming within 50 miles of this place.

I'll give Jok his due - he's a terrific scorer (most nights) and a fairly good rebounder. He can't defend to save his life. But as a passer? Um, no.....not so much.

So althawk's comment about MM's passing has to be the clear front-runner for boneheaded post of the year. Even with 99.9% of the media's comments nearly gushing in praise of Monte, he can't even admit he's talented. That is truly arrogance at its finest.

He surely racks up more than his fair share of assists. Doesn't make him a great passer though. He's fine in that category, but no better than your average back-up NBA point guard.

An average back up NBA point guard means you're an NBA player, which means you're really good at basketball in some way shape or form.

I don't know if Morris makes it there or not, but to act like that's a bad thing if he does, is stupid.

It's like when someone made crap out of Niang for not having a good shooting percentage in the NBA, totally looking past the fact that he was indeed shooting the ball in the NBA.

You're right in that Jok is not used to being defended like he will be in the NBA. That's because if he was defended in the NBA the way he is in college, the defender would be fouled out in about 30 seconds. The freedom of movement players are allowed in the NBA, plus the improved spacing, will make things a lot easier for Jok in the NBA than he ever had it at Iowa.
Do you have a gag reflex?
