Rookies and bench players get a lot of freedom of movement calls in the NBA? Good grief.
Have you ever watched an NBA game? The way Jok is guarded when he doesn't have the ball is simply not allowed in the NBA. It's not a difficult concept to grasp.

yep, this is where the "Doing it the Right Way" posters lose their argument every time. Fran was 100% okay with signing a felon. He and Barta publicly vouched for him. Their fans were totally on board with him. They were pumping him up all summer as someone who was going to be a big contributor for them. There was no trepidation, no second thoughts. They were absolutely fine with him being on the team. So, the whole "ISU has thug players" argument is pure baloney.
Oh man, Prep H has to be making a mint on this thread:

Maybe Jok will get selected for the NCAA 3 point contest like McGee?McGee was a poor athlete and was barely six feet tall. Jok is a much better athlete and is 6'6". What a truly terrible comparison.
My favorite thing about that thread is the number of times the word "clowns" is used. It's not even a good slam on us anymore especially since our program has been at a much higher level over the last 6 years. Get created for **** sakes, clowns is just lazy.

They also don't run shooters off of screens in the NBA like in college. Shooters stand in the corner and wait for the playmakers to draw defenders and pass them the ball.
What is your guess at what Jok averages in NBA as a rookie?
Monte isn't a particularly adept passer? That a pretty unique take. Actually it's unique because no one else is dumb enough to say it.Jok is an elite shooter even by NBA standards. There are most certainly not a surplus of NBA players with his shooting ability.
And it's pretty comical that your (inaccurate) reasoning actually applies to Morris moreso than Jok. Morris doesn't possess any elite traits. Average athlete, average shooter, average defender, not a particularly adept passer. I guess he's really good at not turning it over, though? I'm sure that will get him on an All-Star team someday.
Well that's not entirely true. Even if it were, that kind of proves my point.
Judging by what is going on over at JonMillerNation, he may still be one of the more level headed hoks out there. Just that time of year for Hok fan.I used to think you had some decent takes on things, even if I disagreed. You've gone off the ******* deep end today.
Your condescension is quite unbelievable.
If I went onto HawkeyeNation (gross- I wouldn't go pick fights with strangers on the internet) and told everyone there that I knew more than them about O-line development, I bet I would get some blow back, right?
Well, we here have been watching high level college basketball for years now. Not that NeanderBall you play in Iowa City. Just maybe, some of us know things about basketball.

Lol. Being a fan of a successful team/program doesn't automatically mean you know something about the sport. Have you ever met an Ohio State football fan?
