Seemingly never ending Iowa MBB thread (still going.....)

Not posed to me, but I'll answer as I think 99% of Cyclone fans would. We're not elite. We are, however, a national program that's recognizable by college basketball fans across all parts of the country. It's the first step towards becoming an elite program.

Yet Iowa fans are the ones that are delusional.

We're pretty much a blue blood
Haha I was waiting for this from you. In my opinion, there are 5-7 blue bloods in college basketball and football. The blue bloods for college basketball, in my opinion, are as follows:

Kentucky
UCLA
Kansas
Indiana
Duke
North Carolina

Some of the next tier would include:
UCONN
Louisville
Michigan State
Florida
Arizona
Syracuse

If you think my post is delusional, that's a you problem. In the last 6 seasons, we've been in the NCAA's, we've gone to 2 Sweet 16's, won the Big 12 tournament twice, were ranked in top 25 for nearly 60 consecutive weeks, finished the regular season ranked the last 4 seasons. When Iowa football does something like this over a 6 year span, come back and tell us about it.

Nope, and I never said as much. I am just curious who is elite by your standards? Very few teams make deep runs in the tournaments every year while consistently winning their conference.

This is kinda my point. It's really tough to win conference titles and get past the Sweet 16. Only 8 teams do it, obviously. And even many of the blue bloods don't pull it off, and some don't even make the tournament every year. This run is historically good in terms of ISU, but it's also one of the most consistent runs in the country. I'm pretty comfortable saying ISU has been a Top 15 program the past six years. Is that elite? No. It's still a hell of a stretch.

I agree with everything you just said.

ISU has had a hell of a stretch the past six years. I give them all the credit, but it still isn't in elite status. You have to make a final four, win a couple regular season conference titles, threaten to win a National Championship. Making a couple of sweet 16s and winning a conference tournament that KU doesn't care about doesn't make you elite.
