Minnesota don't view Iowa as a rival that is Wisconsin.
I live in Minneapolis and will verify I was in the crowd for the OSU/UofM game their fans do break out in Hate Iowa chants randomly. Pretty funny actually especially viewing from an ISU perspective.
BTW Gopher fans don't view Hawks as a rival but they are familiar with the fan base due to proximity thus the chants. Totally understandable

How often do they chant "We hate Iowa?" A couple times in 2010 because a message board poster said so?
Is this serious? Minnesota chants it all the time. This is what their player said:

We're talking about basketball. I believe Minnesota views Iowa as kind of a rival in football. Iowa doesn't have a basketball rival besides ISU and we don't even view you guys as our biggest rival
Gopher fans hate Wisconsin 1st by far then Nebraska Iowa 2nd3rd in football. Wisconsin in basketball as they have had a number local guys go there.
Wisconsin are the games Minny fans circle when the schedule comes out.
I feel like if they didn't feel that way before 2/4. They feel that way now.
All I know is I HATE Wisconsin, then Illinois, then Minnesota, then Nebraska (Nebraska is moving up fast because of football). I would hate MSU more if IZZO wasn't such a good a likeable coach.
So outside of Iowa and Kansas who is ISU's Rivals? Losing Missouri and Nebraska knocked out long standing games, and I don't get the sense that Baylor and Tech are some big time rivalry with you guys? Maybe I'm wrong, but I think a rivalry should be for all sports, not exclusively football or basketball.
In basketball I would say ISU has two Rivals. KU first and then Iowa. For Iowa they have one and it's ISU
For me, if Izzo was in our conference I would absolutely hate his whiny, cry baby antics.
That's too bad you don't consider Iowa a "rival". Pizzes me off when I hear 'Clone fans say that, because I love getting up for this game and consider it one of the 1-2 top games of the non-conf season.
Maybe your attitude crept over to the coaches and players and explained why we got our butts kicked by a bunch of average freshmen, who out-played two grad transfers - who were on a team with a preseason AA PG, in a game we never once had the lead, because we got out-coached when Fran recognized how incompetent and unprepared we were to run an offensive set play. Yeah, I'm butt hurt we lost when we clearly had the talent, but not the attitude to beat them.
Look CyTwins, I appreciate your research and diligence to homework the recruiting trail, but you seem kinda brow-beating arrogant about Iowa; I know what you're doing with the "superbowl" comments, because I got pizzed when hearing that from Hoks after we beat them in FB, but let's not act like them, and for Gawd sakes, let's get fired up for that game - don't be surprised to see them favored to win in Hilton next year .
