Okay.3-0 in non-con with wins over UNI, Iowa and Akron. At least 3 wins against the group of KU, TT, TCU, Baylor. We play Texas and Okie State at home so another possibility of getting 1 there as well.
But this is a basketball thread. Don't worry we will be much better than you at basketball next year as well.

Mods, please remove the word "Seemingly" from the beginning of thread title.
We are in the midst of a longer consecutive NCAA appearance than you've ever had too
You hok fans love to live in the past. It makes sense though. You probably have finally realized that the present and future are much brighter for the Cyclones. That is true and very impressive for sure, but I would say Iowa's run of making the NCAA tournament 10 of 11 times and 13 of 15 times with three different coaches including one final four, two elite eights and four sweet sixteens is even more impressive.
If 3 coaches can interchange and keep the Hawks at a national level, how come Fran hasn't been able to after 2 of his own NCAA tourneys and is now having to rebuild? That is true and very impressive for sure, but I would say Iowa's run of making the NCAA tournament 10 of 11 times and 13 of 15 times with three different coaches including one final four, two elite eights and four sweet sixteens is even more impressive.

Eight teams – the four lowest-seeded automatic qualifiers and the four lowest-seeded at-large teams – played in the First Four (the successor to what had been popularly known as "play-in games" through the 2010 tournament). The winners of those games advanced to the main draw of the tournament.

Wow, it's amazing how much this means to so many of you guys. I took 3 minutes to google that and I'm already almost asleep at the keyboard.
Cause he missed on some recruits. I'm hoping this is just a one year deal, but we will see. Next year will be concerning if he doesn't have us back in the tournament.

I'll end the suspense for you, Iowa isn't making the tournament next year either. You lose by far your best player, and you have very little talent, especially at the guard position. I think you miss the NIT again next year. But hopefully Barta still keeps the faith in Fran. I want him there for a long time.Cause he missed on some recruits. ISU has the more recent conference championship by 22 years
ISU has the more recent conference tournament championship by 9 years
1980 is 36 years ago now. Getting close to where not even any middle aged people can remember. Sure they were a great program in the late 70s and 80s, it was a great part of my childhood being a fan of them, but that is incredibly remote stuff to most people if they remember at all.
I guess when your team is horrible now and has no hope for the future, you focus on what you can to get you through.I agree that was a long time ago, just pointing out that was probably the best run of any Iowa school in basketball. ISU's current run has been impressive, but they still have work to do to catch Iowa's best era.

To be honest, I know what it feels like from football, only I didn't have any history to feel good about. At least now I have the something to look forward to.
