Seemingly never ending Iowa MBB thread (still going.....)

Mic drop.......Anbody else want to make a fool out of themselves today and argue with me? I've already been proven right on my 2 main talking points so I'm claiming victory and walking away.

Jok would have put up video game numbers on our team with Monte dishing him the ball, I would gladly take him also. Some others wouldnt evidently because they claim he fell to Iowa because he sucked and we were too good for him at that point.

Well that lasted all of 4 minutes.

First of all, he took over a dumpster fire and in his second year had them in the NIT and fourth, fifth and sixth year in the NCAA winning two games. He has also taken four different teams to the NCAA tourney.

You lost the PIG, meaning only 2 tourney births. PIG stand for Play into the tournament game, and you lost, so therefore logic would say you didn't make it at all.

Hok fans keep referring to the NCAA considering it a part of the tournament and changing the name from PIG to "First Four". However, that only happened after that year that Iowa played in there. It was still a PIG that year, no matter how much lipstick they try to put on it.

No situations are ever identical. Keeping a consistent winner in any sport is tough, and doubly tough in Iowa. Dan Mac couldn't do it, Rhoads couldn't do it, Fran couldn't do it and Ferentz doesn't do it. The current ISU basketball run is very impressive. You are in the midst of the longest consecutive NCAA appearance in a row in your entire history. Before this run 3 in a row was the most ever for you guys. That just show how hard it is to accomplish that kind of consistency without a down year or two.

I completely agree with everything you said except that the situations are the same.

If anybody gets bored (and I mean REALLY bored, cause this would probably take awhile), can you go back thru this thread & quote all the times Jeremy said he was done, or leaving, or out, etc? Does CF even allow you to quote that many posts at once??

TIA

And yours too, no Iowa college has ever gone to 6 in a row.

But, but, but ... Dan Dakich said JorBo is going to be a 1500pt and 700ast guy in his career!

I've seen this mentioned a couple of times, which is great. Selfishly, I hope he gets there, because that means Iowa didn't recruit someone better than him and he'll play 30 plus minutes for the next 3 years and average 11.5ppg and 5.25apg on complete dog poop teams.

Horner is the career assist leader with 612, so Dakich has JorBo shattering their record.

The stupidest thing in his own farewell speech was this line "Call it trolling if you want, but this is exactly what you guys do."

I don't think any of us ISU fans troll at all, it's the handful of Hawkeye fans that troll these threads. I think all of us ISU posters here are very fair
Hahahahahahaha. Hahahahahaha. hahaha.

This. Iowa State got better as the year progressed. We are bringing in more talent to go with some big time talent at skills positions. I will be disappointed if we don't win at least 6 games next year. I don't think that's unrealistic.
I think you're gonna be disappointed. I don't see 6 wins there....

3-0 in non-con with wins over UNI, Iowa and Akron. At least 3 wins against the group of KU, TT, TCU, Baylor. We play Texas and Okie State at home so another possibility of getting 1 there as well.
But this is a basketball thread. Don't worry we will be much better than you at basketball next year as well.

No.

What was it called when Iowa played? And how come I can still fill and submit my bracket after those games?
First Four.

2013 Article:
http://www.sbnation.com/college-basketball/2013/8/19/4638474/ncaa-tournament-first-four-dayton

Eight teams – the four lowest-seeded automatic qualifiers and the four lowest-seeded at-large teams – played in the First Four (the successor to what had been popularly known as "play-in games" through the 2010 tournament). The winners of those games advanced to the main draw of the tournament.

Wow, it's amazing how much this means to so many of you guys. I took 3 minutes to google that and I'm already almost asleep at the keyboard.
