Fraschilla vs KU

It's not a fact, it's an opinion. Who is to say that if KU drops that game at ISU that the change in the standings doesn't make them approach their game at Baylor with a little more focus and win it instead of losing it?

You can't change one thing in the past, assume that everything else after that change would have happened identically and then call your assumption "fact". It's simply not the case.

Winning that game kept the streak alive.

Maybe in the ISU Science Department but not anywhere else. When you change one variable in a science experiment, you do not assume that everything else after that will remain the same.

Having lived in Chicago and LA for the past 16 years and growing up in Iowa I get endless entertainment from KU fans who think Lawrence is the NYC of the midwest yet Iowa is some empty wasteland. Better yet those who mock Iowa for being a rural state while Kansas is even more rural and sparsely populated. Trust me, people in major cities will see absolutely no difference between Ames and Lawrence, but keep bashing away because it's hilarious.

Who are all these KU people you talk to? Based on your posting history, it's more likely that you might be exaggerating a bit to make your desired point. Lawrence is a nice Midwestern college town, no more, no less.

Here's the thing with fouls. Happens at all levels, from high school to the NBA. The star players are often going to get the benefit of the doubt and get fouls called in their favor.

Michael Jordan, the greatest player to play the game, pushed off constantly and didn't get it called most of the time.

The problem is that KU almost always has the best players in the league. Therefore they will usually get calls in their favor, especially at home. This is something that's just going to happen.

However, for KU fans to freak out and not realize how this works in their favor is asinine. If you have to stretch and search high and low to find a handful of bad calls AGAINST KU, then you are trying way too hard to avoid the truth.

KU does get a lot of call in their favor. Just like other star players do. The only way to stop it is to bring in better players and take the title away from them.

Why do you think KU hates opposing star players so much? Tinsley and Stinson drove them nuts because they had the same swagger as KUs star players and got calls in their favor.

They hated Georges because he drew foul calls that a lesser player probably would not have.

Such is the curse of being a front running fan. You are so used to everything going your way that when it doesn't go your way, it's a travesty of justice.

I'm an umpire, and though I don't really care who wins the game, I usually know who's supposed to win the game, especially in a tournament setting. Their coaches and fans react way different to having a close call go against them. And while you are supposed to not let anything affect your calls, I know some guys hear what they are saying and let it affect future calls.

Kansas State is on ESPNU tonight. Too bad the poor folks in Lawrence won't be able to watch it
"Too bad" I can't watch K-State play Okie State? Eh....I think I will flip between Louisville at Carolina and Butler at Nova and be just fine.

What are you talking about? I dont know ANY KU fans that have hatred towards opposing stars. I have never heard a KU fan complain about getting calls lesser players didn't get. Thr main gripe on him was he got away with lots of traveling violations due to his style of play but no one hated him for that. It was just annoying.

I was one of the 16,000+ KU fans ar AFH who gave Georges Niang a STANDING OVATION aftet his last game at Kansas. Sell that BS about KU fans hating Iang somewhere else, even the other ISU fans here know that's BS.

Honest question. Do you think that ovation would have occurred if ISU had won that game?

I honestly feel like KU has not gotten the calls that they normally get in Lawrence (with the exception of the travel vs KSU). Seems like the public backlash has gotten to the refs a little.

Your buddy Champ said this earlier in the thread making a joke about Tinsley push offs.

There is a something in the rulebook referred to as the "Tinsley Exception" which allows high profile Big 12 guards to use their forearms to gain separation from defenders. I'm surprised that you, as an ISU fan, haven't heard of it.

I've watched plenty of games with KU fans and they hate on opposing star player all the time and complain about the calls they get.

And even if KU respected Niang, it doesn't mean they always liked him.

My main point of my post was that everyone has to accept and admit that star players are going to get more calls.

KU fans in particular have to give up the argument that they don't get more calls than everyone else, because deep down you know they do.

No, KU does not get EVERY call, but they get the benefit of the doubt at times because they have the better players more often than not.

I'll admit that Tinsley, Fizer, and Niang all got their share of favorable calls in their days.
