So did Fred and look what he did. His 4th year he lost in the play in game and didn't make the NCAA tournament and he's never made it to the Sweet 16 ever and he's almost 60
2 NCAA tournament appearances in 7 years is not even close to good but then again Iowa sucks this year and it's probably still Lickliters fault
I never said he was terrible. To say Fran has been a good coach at Iowa when he has 2 tournament appearances in 7 years is an outright lie and a fabrication of the truth. IMO he's the perfect fit at Iowa
Guess I wasn't talking to you, but to 1976 who said he was terrible. He has been decent to good at Iowa and everywhere he has been outside of Sienna where he was really good. Also, it is an outright lie to say he has had two tournament appearances at Iowa, but I've already pointed out to you how wrong you are about that before.
Iowa is terrible this year. They are towards the bottom of easily the worst power 5 conference in the country. And this is as good as it's going to get for a long time. Peter Jok won't be there to bail you out with 35 points next year.
I dont see Moss transferring anywhere after this season.

Again, Marble, Uthoff, Woodbury, Gesell were decent players that made Iowa decent. As long as anyone but Lickliter was the coach, they were most likely all going to end up there anyway. So it's not like he's brought in a bunch of studs that most coaches with a heartbeat couldn't have brought in. He got lucky on White, I'll give him that. The next crop of Iowa boys are worse. You have no point guard, no guys who can get their own shot, and a bunch of big guys that are mediocre at best. Cook seems to have some talent, but he's dumb and doesn't rebound or play defense. There is 0 hope for the future and it's going to be delightful for me to watch.
Oh JFC dude, the Big 10 is bad no doubt, but you live in a bubble? The SEC is by far the worst power 5 conference every year and its not even close. Go look at RPI rankings, Big 10 is ahead of the SEC and Pac-12.

I think McCaffrey is a good coach but Iowa has no athletics culture outside football and wrestling and the AD is cool with that. So I think you will see more of the same.
Recruits and fans know it and recognize it.

I think Fran is really good at scouting and putting together a good game plan but as soon as things get off script he hasn't shown me much as far as in game adjustments go and those are extremely important. Obviously this year is different but over the last few years his teams have been notorious for really fast starts but once the other team adjusts things tended to even out.
The best thing for ISU is that Barta lives to be 110, and never retires.
