Seemingly never ending Iowa MBB thread (still going.....)

So why were you saying they were ahead of 7 teams in the conference which isn't true by any standing or metric if you prefer RPI?
Because they have won 6 games, which would put them better than about 6 or 7 teams. How is this hard to understand? Winning games, that's why teams play, period.

Big Pirates fan here. MLB is by far my favorite sport to watch, and the Pirates are by far my favorite sports team.
The Pirates underachieved a bit last year, but they were in a tough division and had some injuries. They are a team I fear this year.

Big 10 schedule is so cushy. Not only are the bottom teams terrible, and the top teams mediocre on the road, but they also have like two weeks each season that they only have 1 game.
Like next year, after their one-week-early conference tournament, so that they can showcase Rutgers?

No it wouldn't. Iowa was ahead of two teams the year they went to the NIT that win to the NCAA Tournament

Should be good enough to sneak in the Playoffs if Cole and McCutchen can bounce back and be health. Also, need some younger guys/prospects to emerge and take a step forward. Lotta talent in that division, both at MLB level and farm system level. It's a bear.

What does "it was their Super Bowl" mean? As far as I know there is one Super Bowl, and that was played a couple weeks ago in Houston.

Every time Iowa gets to play Iowa State in football or basketball they treat it like it's their Super Bowl. Iowa is horrible this year, second worst team in a bad conference but Iowa fans will say "this is been a fun ride" because they beat ISU. They lose that game and Fran is probably fired, it's really the only game the fans and players care about

How does Iowa treat it like a Super Bowl? If you mean they care that they win and get fired up to play a rival, and want to call it them acting like its a Super Bowl, then fine call it what you want. But, I'd much rather my team get fired up to play a rival and care that they win, then don't? So, idk what your argument is. Plus, "Super Bowl" this and that is just another excuse, in a long list of them, by Iowa State fans.

Agree, some well run organizations in that division, and we all only get to play the Brewers 18 times a year.

We played poorly. We didn't have a lot of energy and didn't get back defensively. Iowa played their best game of the year. I still think we beat Iowa 9 out of 10 times.

I think the Pirates will push the Cubs much harder than the Cards this year. I think STL will struggle to get to 80 W's this year.

Also, they are not the 2nd worst team in the Big Ten.

The coaches and players at Iowa treat it like it's the biggest game of the season. There are literally a thousand examples of it so let's not bog down the thread about it. I am honestly jealous, I wish our coaches and players emphasized the game as much as yours do just for bragging rights but our coaches and players are more focused on conference play
