Furthermore, the series was not played from 1935 until 1976. ISU had 10 winning seasons during that time frame and never even won a bowl game until this century.
Iowa had 12 winning seasons during the same time frame and won 2 Rose Bowls.
So to act like the Iowa program was light years behind ISU's is wrong.
There was also a 12 year break from 1921 until 1932. When the series stopped, Iowa had won the last 5. Iowa went 53-37-4 during the 12 seasons the series was not played.
ISU's record during that same time was 38-56-7.
Thanks for the history lesson but ISU fans should feel fortunate the all time gap is not larger in favor of Iowa.
I hope that you understand that there weren't as many bowl games prior to the 90's/00's. A lot of those winning seasons didn't even result in a bowl, so ISU had no chance to win one. ISU went 6-5 in 1989 under Walden and didn't play in a bowl. 1976 they went 8-3 and finished #19 in the AP and didn't get invited to a bowl. Not saying they have a great or even good history, but bowl games/wins can be a misleading stat.
