At about the 2.40 mark in this highlight video:

Side note - that is a really pitiful excuse of a moustache on Miles...

ISU will make the tournament. Will Iowa make the NIT? I didn't watch the game last night but I heard this guy was your second best player last night so I would bet no

That's fantastic. Where did you find that?

I'd caption it, "Iowa Basketball - Still dorky even without all the gingers."

Couldn't agree more. Jok is putting that team on his shoulders this year. Imagine if he would have declared last year. Hope they don't run him into the ground by seasons end. They have (2) really good Freshman in Cook and Bohanon, but not take over games good. If they land 1-2 more really good recruits in this upcoming class or 2 they could be dangerous, but that's a big if. Fran hasn't proven he can recruit a true point guard... Time will tell.

Jok is averaging just under 30 MPG this year, I dont think he will wear down.

A loss to the 2nd worst P5 team in college basketball history has you salty this morning.

Not really, it was a really exciting game to watch. Iowa had chances to win, especially up 4 with under 90 seconds left in the first OT. As expected with a young team, they just could not close the deal.

I am really looking forward to the rest of the season and watching the team make progress. I bet most Hawk fans will enjoy the rest of our season more than most Clone fans will theirs.

Doubt it. The Cyclones may not win out (okay, it's highly doubtful they will win all the rest of their games)...but I'll be watching our games in a vibrant atmosphere with thousands of fans in cardinal & gold cheering. You'll be watching yours in a mausoleum.

Fun game to watch. Iowa will have their struggles this year because of how young they are but they play hard. Baer is easy to poke fun at but he plays his ass off and makes plays when his team needs it most. Fully expected Pemsl and especially JorBo to be garbage this year but that's not the case. He's not Curry obviously but I actually like Bohannon's game quite a bit. We definitely have a higher ceiling than them but who knows if we will actually reach our potential. Iowa seems to play above theirs and I've definitely been envious of their effort and aggression compared to what I've seen from our squad at times.

You haven't been paying attention if you haven't seen huge effort from our guys. It's been the only thing keeping them in games with teams like Baylor and Gonzaga.

As for Iowa it's easy to meet low expectations. Expecting garbage and getting slightly less smelly garbage isn't tough.

Fun game last night.

Iowa has a good young core. Need to still find a PG that can create and a scoring threat after Jok leaves. They get those and they will be dancing again.

"At times" was a pretty key part of what I said. If you think we played hard against Iowa and Drake, you definitely weren't paying attention. I'm not down on our team but I'm also not confident they will consistently bring it against teams they should beat. I'll be very happy to be proven wrong.

This is exactly what I'm talking about, when you start with such low expectations you end up with this mentality.

Any Iowa fan that came into this season with high expectations is an idiot.

And what would be the alternative? Be like an ISU football fan and predict 6 wins and a bowl game every year and then bang your head against the wall when you win 3?

I've watched quite a few Iowa games and have seen that same effort at times. They roll over from time to time to, everyone does. Not everyone has seniors like Naz or Monte to pull them through it.

Blaming effort is an easy out for a fan but is rarely the problem.

hmm, coming up with comparisons isn't really your forte is it? For the record I'd rather have higher expectations as long as they're realistic. Setting a low bar is for losers.

Don't think too hard and just be happy with your little turd not stinking as much as you though it would.
