He who sups with the devil should have a long spoon

Do not want Kish. Not even in top 10. He is getting leftovers from Bono and Minnesota. Hasn't had much of a recruiting since he got there, I don't think
He has taken lesser recruits and developed them. He gets leftovers from Minnesota because NDSU is not a big time program. If he's turning those leftovers into a team that can beat ISU, imagine what he can do with the type of recruits he could get at ISU. North Dakota is a tiny State and their high schools are not good at wrestling.

No interest. Then go get Bono. Bono/Reader would be 10 times better than Kish
I think he's doing a better job with NDSU than KJ is with ISU. But he would probably be my last choice out of the candidates I listed.

My first choice would be Popolizio and then Pritzlaff. Bono after that.

It's going to take a new AD and lots of hatchet burying to get Bono back in Ames. Beating Iowa State as often and as badly as possible is high on his priority list.

If the position were to open up The best bets on that list would be Perry or Pritzlaff, Perry being a better bet since Pritzlaff is back home in NJ and probably likes it there. In my dealings with Popolizio he seems very happy at NC State. Has a good situation at a state school and has/is building something great with very good recruits. Bono while an isu alum is doing the same and I just can't see him leaving that right now. Keep in mind Perry is pretty much running the program at Illinois. A B1G school and with his coaching ability and prestige I expect them to be better than where they are (if you point out individual success you're being hypocritical)

I don't hold the NDSU victory over us as much of a factor. We din't have Simmons, Hall, Straw, DiBlasi, Harrington or Smith in the lineup. But I still expect that we should have beaten them.

They also only have Rodriguez and Ream ranked, so I would be extemely disappointed if Kish would even be considered a candidate. I would 100% keep the Paulsons over Kish. Not even a doubt

ISU vs. NDSU Match-by-Match
133: Nathan Boston (ISU) maj. dec. Albert Landeros (NDSU), 15-5. (2:15 RT)

I don't know why you're trying so hard to argue about Kish. ISU is better than NDSU, I'm not denying that. Way to go on that accomplishment KJ. I even said he'd be last on my list. I do, however think he gets more out of lesser recruits than KJ does out of his.

What about Pritzlaff or Pop or Bono Or Perry? Take the current staff over all of them as well?

No only if this would happen, I want to be fairly certain we aren't in the same discussion 4-8 years from now.

Also really think these last 2 classes are a different type of recruit. I think we recruited a lot of questionable guys that had baggage and didn't last at Iowa State wrestling very long or never ended up making it.

I can't argue with the other 4, but I think they are far above Kish. Also Cunningham, Cody Sanderson, Damian Hahn, but Paulsons would still be my 1st choice (At least for a couple years)

So what do you make of Rodriguez

Not exactly sure why the wrestling coach is supposed to be untouchable when it comes to scrutiny, but it's absolutely pathetic that his family members are giving people a hard-time on social media. Imagine if he was a coach of a sport like football or basketball and continued to under perform.

So you wouldn't defend your family members or significant other? I know I sure as hell would.

Against what though? Blatantly false statements? Yeah, probably, but you aren't changing minds. People have their opinions and are going to express them. Engaging them is almost never going to end well. The screenshot that was previously posted showed a guy that isn't impressed with the state of the program. He was extremely respectful. Butthurt isn't the way to go on social media because people feed off that.

Tough job. I like and have been treated extremely respectful by KJ, Trent, Travis, Jon Reader, Garett Kiley, Troy Nickerson.

I was even invited to go to the movies with Trent, Garett, Angel while in New York. We went a couple days early and the coaches asked me to go out to eat and to a movie with them.

I have seen Yero at Nationals and Olympic trials in the last couple years and have had great conversations with him.

Troy came to one of the Cyclone parties after Nationals were over and had a good talk with him.

I can't imagine the pressure to win and the public opinions that they have to go through.

I don't recall him being a coveted recruit but he had a very good freshman season. Just curious as to your feelings on that because you said lush does better with lesser talent

Isn't Josh a redshirt senior? Not ranked in top 100 that I saw. Has won a couple matches at Nationals the last couple years. Seem to be messing well at NDSU. But I think all coaches have guys like this. Currently I would put Lelund Weatherspoon in this category.

I was referring to Dante Rodriguez

Ok. Not sure on Dante. I would hope we seem some matches at some time out of him this year. Same with Logan Breitenbach, which I heard might be back this week at Dubuque.

Dante likes his Greco, which is probably what caused his elbow injury. So when Heil and Geo Martinez tech him, makes me wonder if he is to one dimensional. I think if he can get a good leg attack, I think we will see more of him in the future.
