Iowa Football Recruiting

i don't think iowa state is a good football team, but i do find it interesting that of the teams we have had success against recently (fcs/mac types), iowa is one of them.

i'd just once like someone from the other side to admit that the two teams aren't that far apart

Everybody gets all caught up on recruiting rankings and where they stand. The truth is unless you are Alabama or others like them, you are looking for 3 to 4 star guys that fit your system. CMC has been able to come in and get guys right away. Hopefully that is a sign that he is getting his top targets. I did not see the same thing with CPR. As far as Iowa? I really have no feeling. I'm sure it's fine, but KF has screwed up better classes.

The gap isnt as far as it was during the 15 game Iowa winning streak but its also not as close as ISU fans think it is.

Look at the 2 programs outside of the vacuum of the head to head record and you will see 2 programs that have a fairly decent sized gap between them.

In before B1G sucks and Big 12 is the best.

I don't understand why hok fan thinks that ISU fan is the entity driving the "Iowa's easy schedule/conference strength" (accurate) narrative.

Comparing Iowa State to Iowa is like comparing Iowa to UNI. It's just playing against completely different levels of talent

but if it's a decent-sized gap, and we don't use big 10 sucks/big 12 is great, why have we had recent success against iowa?

Because Ferentz doesn't care about the game is what I've been told even though there is proof he treats it as the biggest game of the year

If a handful of games defines how good a program is, there is a very easy argument that ISU is an FCS-level team.

I do not think ISU fans want to go down this road.

I just get fed up with it, man. like I have never heard an Iowa state fan running around claiming the football team is great. we just claim Iowa isn't great, either, and is probably closer to us than they are to Alabama

Your current head coach has lost to ISU 9 times. How many FCS losses does ISU have in it's entire history? Terrible comparison

Well our current head coach has won 6 bowl games, 2 conference titles and appeared in 3 BCS Bowl Games, winning 1 in his 17 year tenure, how does the entire history of ISU compare?

But we get it, he has struggled against ISU.

The point I was trying to make was the Big 10 is worse than the Big 12 right now but that hasnt been the case for the entire 17 year tenure of KF.

Fact of the matter is, the only thing the ISU program can really hang its hat on in the last 20 years is their just over .500 record against Iowa.

Mark Farley has 9 playoff appearances and has a 68% winning percentage (Ferentz is 59%)

Point I'm trying to make is we are not that far behind you. Otherwise, how do have the success we do against you?

You are soon to be .500 against Iowa in the past 18 meetings, let's not act like ISU has won 3/4 of the times we have played in recent memory.

And if you cant figure it out its pretty obvious, Super Bowl.
