2016-17 Big 12 Basketball Schedule Released

Yeah, while it annoys me that we have zero respect, not having a bunch of Big Monday games allows the team to have a normal practice schedule.

I see 2 Monday games on the list. Is the early game technically not a Big Monday game?

Jan 16 8PM vs KU
Feb 20 6PM @ TTU

It's on ESPNU, so no, not big Monday.

Texas and WVU both get 2?
I honestly have no clue, how good are those teams supposed to be this season?

Pretty good. UT had a lot of young talent from last year and WVU has a lot coming back. They got more because they are predicted to finish 2 and 3 in the Big 12. OU getting 2 surprised me, but last year probably helped that. I think we finish better than them though.

Can't really argue with their Big Monday picks. 3 rivalry games and then 4 games with great home crowds (1 at WVU, 1 at ISU, 1 KU, and 1 at KSU)

Plus there are only 7 Big Monday slots this year versus 8 thanks to the calendar.

I'm adopting a somewhat paranoid belief that the point of this year's schedule is to discourage attendance, between the limited Saturday home games and the generally awful noncon home schedule.

When I was a student I always wanted the home games during the week. It gave me something to look forward to in the cold of winter, and it's not like the saturday's allowed for tailgating/drinking any more than the week days did.

UT has Shaka as the coach now, Lots of love on ESPN for Shaka. Even though Huggins loves thug ball he is a top coach and gets a lot of press (pun unintended, but left in). Hopefully we can continue to grow under Prohm and just get more respect and coverage.

Only thing I'd say is that I think the OSU @ OU game is weak. Would have been cool for us to pick up a second big Monday game @ OU. It would be a better game than OSU @ OU imo.

Thought they would get two of them but can't really complain. OU getting 3 is the most surprising. I thought WVU would get 3 since they will probably be picked to finish 2nd. I think ISU will finish anywhere from 2-4.
