Kasongo commits

5.9 points and 4.7 rebounds a game. But the CSI coach played 12-14 players a night and Kasongo averaged only 15.2 minutes a contest, yet still managed to block 68 shots.
He did produce eight games with double-figure scoring and a pair of double-doubles while shooting 59.6% (84 of 141) from the floor. Most impressively, spread over a 40-minute average, his blocked shot total equates to 5.4 rejections a contest.

In those quotes from the past article you cant help but think of a Cato type role for this guy, as long as he doesnt insist upon being the man on offense he should be great for us.

those kinds of tools have no other ammo. And like it matters if we recruit hs or not. It's irrelevant.

Never mind the fact we signed 3 high school players this class. I guess math is hard for some people.

Anyways, I like this addition. High ceiling, and worst case is he's another big body to throw in with Lard and Young.

The legend continues.

CW: Literally landed in Florida a minute ago. Have a text that Ray Kosongo has committed to Iowa State. The trend continues

This is great news. Another Canadian. I hope he finds similar success to the others we have had.

Its an Iowa fan what do you expect.

I feel pretty good about our posts going forward. Between Kasongo, Lard, Young and Carter you should get some decent production from the low post. We still probably need to add a SF with ball skills though.

Ya add like Aamir Simms or Keyshawn Feazell. But honestly hear a lot of chatter staff wants to add a talented/versatile juco bigman too. So look out for offers in July when that heats up.

Tell him its just to bad we don't do it the right way. Then point out how many times we have beat Iowa the last 5 years, the number of tourneys and the sweet 16s in that time period.

Since he has to sit a year, he will actually be in the same class as Carter

He will next year. Technically, I believe his status this fall is true junior. The required year out will be his redshirt year. So then in 17-18 when he starts playing he'll be a redshirt junior. That is why I think it makes more sense to have him listed as junior status
