Is this a Hipster way of thinking, like being ****** when your favorite band goes from playing night clubs to arenas? Like you'd rather have them not be successful so you can still claim you like them. Or is it more of a jealous type of thinking?
You may not like the non alumni fan and I'd rathe they not be ********, but this type of fan is what ISU needs more of, the fans who never went to ISU. And it would be even better if we started attracting fans who never even lived in Iowa. ****, when I was growing up in Iowa I saw all kinds of kids with Duke stuff, North Carolina, Miami, FSU, I'll bet you anything none of them ever went to school there. I used to work with a guy, who during the NCAA tournament, would dress head to toe in all UNC gear. He'd never even been to one of their games in person, let alone go to school there. It would be awesome for ISU's bottom line to have that kind of reach in it's fanbase.
We did blow out #8 Iowa that year. Plus ISU has a long history of doing well against elite QB's
Shhh. True fans know that the only true fans went to the school they cheer for. Alumni are the only persons qualified to go to a game, buy merchandise or even watch the games on TV. Perhaps immediately family of alumni are okay, but only in special circumstances. They Cyclones have figured out the correct model for building a fan base. Eventually the rest of the world will catch on.
The problem isn't non-alumni being fans. The problem is most of the non-alumni hawk fans are uneducated trash. You can have 'em.
The question was when was the last time we sniffed anything close to a conference title. I think 2004 and 2005 would qualify as sniffy something close to a conference title.

There is discussion here. Saying Lazard is better than King is VERY debatable.
I know you're saying vs Iowa wrs but Lazard doesnt line up against them. Thats not how the game is played. And Tucker is not clearly better than Johnson either.
Actually it's not debatable. Lazard did nothing when he lined up against King last year.
Tucker was second team AP all conference, Johnson was Honorable Mention. Tucker was Defensive newcomer of the year.
Tucker had more TFL and sacks last year than Johnson has in his entire career.
I don't remember who lined up on him. I'm guessing Lazard had his 7 and 71 against that bad CB Maybe or whatever his name is?
Tucker's a stud but if he played in the B1G he wouldn't have been second team all conference or had those numbers.
