Iowa game at Kinnick under the lights?

Tailgating is like sex, when it's great (Jack Trice) it's fantastic and when it's bad (Kinnick) it's pretty good then too. What Iowa fans don't experience is what it's like to be treated as an opposing fan at Kinnick. Every fan base has bad apples unfortunately Iowa seems to have a much higher proportion than most.

When 1/2 of the fans spent the entire week hitchhiking from such bastions of hok fandom as Keokuk, Fort Madison, Burlington, Clinton, Davenport, and Muscatine you know they're going to be salty.

McMurphy says there are two primetime BTN games on Sept. 10. UNC @ Illinois and Iowa State @ Iowa. Does that mean the channel will split which viewers see what or will they be back-to-back with something like 5:00pm and 8:00pm kicks?

I don't get BTN so I don't know if they ever show two games at once and show one to certain markets and the other to different markets.

I think BTN has alternate channels.

This game likely won't go anywhere.

Both teams need a P5 team for the non-conference. The whole state enjoys the game.

If one athletic director decided to opt out, the outcry would probably prompt the legislature to make sure it doesn't happen.

Missouri and Nebraska were quasi-rivalry games.

Saying that you would rather beat a bad conference team over a ranked one from out of conference is just too stupid to take seriously.

Obviously some conference games are always going to be important, but ALL of them are only important if you are actually contending for the conference title, which you clearly are not.

The difference between 4-4 or 5-3 in the B1G or 2-7 and 3-6 in the XII is completely negligible and anyone that thinks there is some kind of meaningful distinction there is obviously a fan of a program that has never competed for anything of significance during their lifetime and celebrates things like "bowl championships" in games that didn't even exist 10 years ago.

However, my example from 2005, we were. Just one more conference win in 2005 (and 2004), and ISU was in the Big 12 title game. I cant say for sure I would of traded the KU or Texas win last year for an Iowa win, however, I would of gladly traded the Iowa win for a Baylor win in 2005 (when Baylor sucked).

When's the last time we sniffed anything close to a conference title. I can't even remember. Let's go out and win the Big 12 this year boys!!

LOL, define "quite a few." Unless it's at least 0.1% of the entire fanbase, your observation is completely worthless.

I bet I could find a few Clone fans that would pick the Iowa set-up. It's just such a stupid, pointless argument.

What we do know for an absolute fact is that Iowa has a larger stadium, has attracted more fans for generations upon generations, and has a larger fanbase in general.

But I'm sure they all think the tailgating sucks compared to Ames.

Your larger fan base is awesome. I love traveling back to northeast Iowa, visiting my family, and hearing nonstop banter from the people I know in that area that are all Hawkeye fans. They're apart of the fan base you're speaking of...the ones that barely graduated high school, have ZERO affiliation with the University except for living in the same state, and are all apart of the fire Ferentz train when your team is losing followed quickly by turning back to saying best coach ever when you're winning. And this isn't just Northeast Iowa. This is everywhere I go when I'm back, and everywhere I've lived across the country. I always run into Iowa fans that...go figure..never went to the University of Iowa but routinely tell me to F*** Off just because I'm wearing an ISU shirt. A large % of your fan base is sh** and you shouldn't be proud of it.

So how does this work, do you have to create new email addresses every time you create a new account? I'm honestly curious the effort it takes to do this

Me too. Also wondering who Les was in prior life. Thinking dugouts is probably due to be popping up again since his banning as Booneville. Would be nice if he would pretend to be an Ohio State fan this time.
