Iowa game at Kinnick under the lights?

I'd rather win a Big 12 game every day of the week than beat a team from a poor conference. If it was an SEC team I'd maybe change my mind depending who it was but otherwise conference games always mean more than a non conference game.

So you'd rather beat KU than Ohio State in football?

You cannot possibly be that stupid.

Not really. I think most ISU fans, if given the choice between beating any conference opponent or Iowa, would choose the conference opponent. Likewise for Iowa fans. 2005 for example; ISU lost to Baylor at home, and lost to Nebraska, Missouri and KU, all in OT, on the road. I would of traded the Iowa win that year, which is one of the best games I have seen live, for any of those loses.

Missouri and Nebraska were quasi-rivalry games.

Saying that you would rather beat a bad conference team over a ranked one from out of conference is just too stupid to take seriously.

Obviously some conference games are always going to be important, but ALL of them are only important if you are actually contending for the conference title, which you clearly are not.

The difference between 4-4 or 5-3 in the B1G or 2-7 and 3-6 in the XII is completely negligible and anyone that thinks there is some kind of meaningful distinction there is obviously a fan of a program that has never competed for anything of significance during their lifetime and celebrates things like "bowl championships" in games that didn't even exist 10 years ago.

Personally I hope that this game goes the way of VEISHEA. ISU has grown past needing this game to be relevant in-state or to sell tickets. Let them go their own way and we go ours. And we don't have to deal with their idiot fans in our wide open parking lots ever again.

Les Nessman only lasted 24 posts. That has to be a record.

Well Summer Lover only lasted 8. But I guess if you add up the posts under frogger, CDan, the one after Dan, any others plus these 8, he might have more. Not sure what Les was in prior lives. Maybe dugouts.

This is like saying you can't compare any two things because people are biased. BS

Maybe it would help to establish criteria:

1. Parking
2. Fan support
3. Proximity to stadium
4. Restrooms
5. Friendliness of fans to other fan bases
6. Ease of getting to stadium from tailgate?

The point isn't what Hawk fans or Cyclone fans prefer. The day Hawk fans admit anything isnt as nice as Iowa states will be a first. Many of them still can't bring themselves to admit ISU is the biggest University in the state. (See lies about admission requirements).... again sad.

So what criteria above would Iowa be better than ISU? Feel free to add your own.

BTW the day I see universities tearing up their parking to put in housing around the stadium is when I will believe Iowa has a better tailgating atmosphere. Iowa has no choice. ISU could imitate Iowa any time they wanted. I wonder why they don't? LOL

I've never found parking to be that bad in Iowa City. Sure compared to Ames it's a little more difficult but compared to say, Wrigley, its a breeze. I think more of it is if you like rager-style parties to tailgate at, Iowa City is your preference. If you like what I think of as true tailgating (grilling, drinking and something like bags with a group of friends) Ames is more your scene.

I will absolutely agree with you on the Hawk fans never admitting anything good about ISU ever though. I had a hell of a time getting some of them to admit VEISHEA was even fun at the time solely because they couldn't admit they were actually enjoying themselves in Ames. Kinda funny to watch actually.

And you asked what does Iowa have better than ISU? Though I know it's better now: Welch <<<<<<<<ped mall, and it isn't even close. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed my time in campustown but it was an absolute dump compared to most other college bar areas. Like we all used to say "Welch may be a dump, but it's our dump."

Tailgating is like sex, when it's great (Jack Trice) it's fantastic and when it's bad (Kinnick) it's pretty good then too. What Iowa fans don't experience is what it's like to be treated as an opposing fan at Kinnick. Every fan base has bad apples unfortunately Iowa seems to have a much higher proportion than most.

So we are going to get whooped under the lights?

Wow, even the hawk trolls are worried.

Dude, you need to try to be a little less obvious. I didn't even have to open the thread to know you were a troll. I saw the name of the last poster and knew it was a troll name; then seeing your post was confirmation.

Couldn't even wait 24 hours after getting banned to get right back in the same thread? Weak.

It was 24-7, Einstein, but don't let the facts get in the way of your masturbatory fantasy.

Chalk me up as being in the "I'll believe it when I see it" camp. Morehouse is a great writer but I seriously doubt that his sources on this would be better than anyone else's. It's been "rumored" to be a night game almost every year that.

Lol

Morehouse biggest fricking suck up Hawkeye journalist around. His main goal is to last another 10-15 years licking the azzes of Iowa football coaching staff and end up on the lame " Kinnick Wall of Fame", ala local retired Hack KCRG TV 9 John Campbell, who spend his first 20 yrs up Hayden's butt

Morehouse is from Wisconsin and actually doesn't like Iowa all that much.
