Tough losses. But 12-2 and #9 is a decent consolation. Looking forward to another hopefully top-10 season.
And don't forget they did it without a future all-pro D lineman and a QB that 'played on one leg'.

Toledo would have been the second best team on Iowa's regular season schedule but you're right, all P5 conference schedules are created equal
If you want to keep wrapping yourself up in the SOS argument, go right ahead. Plus you are the one who keeps bringing up Iowa. I keep trying to bring this back to all of P5 football, and even the Big12 itself. You are just obsessed with making everything about the Hawks.
Speaking of metrics, aren't you the guy who rips on Hok fans for wrapping themselves in the KenPom/Sagarin ratings for basketball? I mean I heard that time and time and time again from my Hok buddies on how they were ranked so high in those rankings. How did that work out for them? How much did guys like you laugh at Hok fans who said they were good because KenPom said so, because I know I did. So you are basically sitting here making the same stupid argument that stupid Hok fan did for basketball, so good move out of you.
I'm bringing up Iowa because you are an Iowa fan. Stop the charade because nobody is buying your act.
You bring up Iowa all the time. Your obsession with Iowa has nothing to do with me.
I do like how you ignored the fact that you call out Hok fans for quoting Sagarin in Basketball while you quote Sagarin in football. LOL
Give me another metric to use besides Sagarin to measure football teams like Iowa State and I will use it. Is there a college football RPI? I don't know anyone that uses Sagarin for basketball, I call out people that use KenPom as a rating system when that's not what it is intended for.
What was your previous username before CySoup?
It is called the College football playoff rankings. I mean who seriously cares about who Sagarin has #47 vs who they have at #56 in college football? 4 teams make the playoffs, not 60 some, nobody cares about the #50 ranked team whoever that is. You for some reason think ISU would beat 4 of 4 P5 teams this year when they have won 4 Big12 games in 3 years.
I have never once before ever heard Sagarin even referred to in college football as a serious ranking system. Heck it has 100x more cred in BB than it has in FB. But whatever man. As I said, I could give a crap less about the Hoks, I never brought them up, and continuously referred to all P5 conferences, you were the one focused solely on Iowa.
Can't believe you're still arguing with Hawk-a-Soup-le-doo.
And don't forget they did it without a future all-pro D lineman and a QB that 'played on one leg'.
You do realize in the last 3 years we are 4-23 in the Big12 right? Our wins have come against teams with a combined record of 12-36 (.25 winning %). What makes you think would be winning games in any other P5 conference? Heck we have beaten two teams NOT named Kansas in the last 3 years in the Big12 and are 1-2 vs FCS in the last 3 years.
You are crazy if you actually think that ISU would be some good team or even an average team in any other P5 conference, this has nothing to do with the BigTen
No, I said I think they win 5 games playing Baylor and OSU's schedule. They probably win 4 or 5 playing Iowa's schedule:
Ill. St.
N. Texas
Purdue
1 or 2 of the following (Indiana, Ill., Maryland).
4 or 5 wins tough to say. Yet I am 95% confident we would beat the 6 cupcakes that Baylor and OSU's non conference teams they played. So we go bowling playing 2 of the top teams in the Big12 schedule.
Where did I say SOS doesn't matter? I said ISU would have gone bowling playing Baylor and OSU schedule (2 of the top Big12 teams). ISU would have won 4 or 5 games playing Iowa schedule (harder to be for sure on W/L, since we didn't play all those BigTen teams). Do we crap the bed vs a Maryland for instance like we did vs K-State, or do we pull out a win?
Either way to dolts who think it is a function of conference, they are wrong. We could win 5 games every year if we scheduled like Baylor or OSU, it has nothing to do with Big12 or BigTen or ACC or SEC or Pac12
LOL, so Sagarin SOS now determines who W's and L's?
Why do you care so much what I think ISU would do vs Iowa's schedule? You or I simply have no idea how it would play out. Heck going into the season I felt we had a 6 win team, and we ended up winning 3 games. There is no reason that we lose to Toledo, there is no reason we crap the K-State down our leg, there is no reason we can't beat Iowa at home. Yet we lost all 3 of those, and you are trying to pretend that we somehow beat all 6 of those teams vs Iowa's schedule? Why, because that makes you feel better about our 3 win season?
It is beyond stupid the lengths some go to make excuses for our crap season/seasons.
I would assume that we should have been 3-0 vs FCS teams over the last 3 years at home, but we are 1-2. Yet you want me to presume that we win 4 of 4 vs P5 teams with 1/2 of those being on the road?
And don't forget they did it without a future all-pro D lineman and a QB that 'played on one leg'.
