UW-Milwaukee fires coach

I'm sure a top assistant on a final four team would be a candidate.

There are some APR issues to work through at Milwaukee. The new coach is going to have to be incredibly careful in recruiting for 2 or 3 years.

That AD sounds like a disaster (both the department and the director). I thought Jeter was doing a pretty good job, actually, and wrote the "TJ to Milwaukee" stories out of my head when I saw their progress this season. Undoubtedly a bad move on their part.

Don't do it, TJ. That looks like an awful situation.

Stick around. Be Prohm's right-hand man, smooth transition to taking over the ISU job when he goes to UK or something like that to take over at a blue-blood after lots of success here.

I think Marquette is getting a little picked over, maybe we need a new Milwaukee school to be a feeding system.

Jeter only had 1 year left on his contract. Very surprised they fired him given his success and the problems they are facing. Just ride next year out and don't renew your coach.

This is a really strange situation. Jester was actually doing really well and had no business being fired. When Bo Ryan left there were rumors that he could be a possibility of Gard didn't work out.

Wisconsin Milwaukee would be a great place for TJ but that AD sounds like a disaster. Normally I would say he would be the choice but I don't know.

Didn't see mentioned anywhere that UW-Milwaukee fired head coach Rob Jeter. Wonder if there will be any interest in Otzelberger.

It would be a logical connection to make. TJ connections to Wisconsin would be a good fit, though the situation looks shaky. Firing the HC at this time is suprising, curious if the AD already has a target in mind and wants to be aggressive.
Selfishly I want TJ on Prohm's staff for a few more years as the program transitions from CFH and recruits get to know the staff. In reality Otz deserves his own HC job to gain experience and build a resume and should look at these type of opertunites. If he gets and interview in Milwaukee or some place else and the job good for him.

Argh...I would think TJ would be a candidate for this...an interested candidate at that.

TJ turned down the chance to interview for a Wisconsin-system school last year to come and be the assistant at Iowa State though....and as I've been told multiple times he only came here to be an assistant.

One NCAA Tourney appearance in the last 10 years? Unless Wikipedia has that wrong, I don't see why firing him was a bad move.

That's a pretty simplistic view of a complex situation that changed drastically from the time TJ accepted the offer to come back.
