Hawkeyes Basketball

This is my website.

And whatever they think about Woody in relation to McKay has nothing to do with me.

I wish we had depth like Iowa so we could be fresh late in close games like they are.

For ***** and gigs, here's Georges' record on similar games. I was gunna guess .500, maybe a little below.
4-6 Senior year
8-5 Junior
6-2 Sophomore
2-4 Freshmen

20-17 total

That was a quick count. There was at least one more win each year that was by 6 points, and there were OT games that finished more than 5, but the wins and losses in those equaled out, so I didn't include them.

Side note: I never thought about it before until looking up these past schedules, but damn we play alot of close games the last two years.

The thing is, we have played a lot of close games because the competition we've been playing for basically the last three years has been considered the best in the country. Literally a lot of metrics have had the Big 12 as the best basketball conference last year and again this year, so all these close losses, yeah they suck but theyre to really good teams for the most part.

Oh I understand. I just remember Kane's year for a bunch of close games, but really there weren't. They were just really good at winning them.

And the thing is, lots of those games listed above were from the conference and NCAA tournament, games we haven't even played yet.

Like Kane's year, two of those games were the last two of the season, and another was the last game of the regular season. So to this point of the year, that team was only 4-1, compared to this year 4-6, twice as many +/- 5pt games this year.

This pretty much sums up their careers imo. They played hard and gave it everything they had, but choked when things got tight. Can't tell you the number of times I saw them miss free throws when the game was on the line especially Gesell.

Clemmons went 0-2 on Tuesday late for the tie.

Yep, they all choke at the line when it matters, but I think Gesell even stands out more for some reason. The way they have lost the last two at Hilton are perfect examples of choking to the highest degree.

I think it's cool that we get to play so many big games. But at the same time, give us a few Rutgers or Washington States or Missouri's to load up on every once in awhile. Not even Texas Tech qualifies anymore.

Ive never seen an otherwise pretty decent FT shooter choke so bad as Gesell did in Hilton two years ago. I mean if he even makes one of those, that game might have ended much differently. ISU is shooting for a tie instead of the lead, and even if Niang gets the reverse around White and Lurch Iowa still has the last shot, which at worst if they miss it goes to OT.

He looks like someone who should make them, reality is him and DeAndre Jordan are probably a wash.
