Re: Iowa MBB now a projected #1 seed

So who won the National Championship between Seton Hall and Michigan in 1989 (it was a 1 point overtime win). Also include why that team won the National Championship in your answer.

Was the national championship game played at Seton Hall or Michigan?

Re: Iowa MBB now a projected #1 seed

Can you name a better way to determine who the better team of two teams is?

A 1-point win is practically a coin flip. If Iowa and ISU played 10 times on a neutral floor, I wouldn't be surprised at all if it were 5-5 or 6-4 either way.

ISU's win in Hilton absolutely counts. But it's not an indicator that ISU is CLEARLY the better team.

Clearly no, but again, the best way to determine the better of two teams is to have them play each other. That took place on December 10.

Re: Iowa MBB now a projected #1 seed

Ill try. I've obviously been outwitted by you! Scoreboard means nothing.
Who said scoreboard means nothing? It's good for the resume, but hardly defines who is the better team unless played at a neutral site. This argument wasn't about tourney resume, people were arguing who is the better team. They are not the same thing.

Re: Iowa MBB now a projected #1 seed

Iowa was obviously better than ISU in 2012-13. Nevermind that Iowa missed the tournament and ISU beat Notre Dame and took Ohio State to the wire in the Dance and was considered better than Iowa by every poll and metric out there. Iowa won the game in Carver.

And I never claimed that Iowa IS the better team. All I've ever said is that neither team is clearly better than the other, and the scoreboard argument doesn't change that.

I agree and have said this much before. Some teams matchup better with some than others. Iowa proved they were better than ISU that year; ISU had the better overall season.

Re: Iowa MBB now a projected #1 seed

Thread is kind of gross to read so forgive me if this has been asked and answered, but is Booneville the artist formerly known as Section? And if so, which section number?

Or maybe Twilight/TwilightZone/whatever other names that one went by?

I'm just a guy who likes analysis and gambling. I probably should not have opted in to this forum.

BINGO. Get out if you don't like it. You're not gunna convince Iowa St fans that Iowa is so much better than Iowa St.

I never said that. I just know that we would be a 4-5 dog to Iowa in the NCAA tournament right now despite having the head to head win in the bank.

WVU opened as a 3.5 dog at KU tonight, and you think ISU would be a 4-5 point dog on a neutral court?
