If beating #1 and #4 in a week don't do something for all of those things, not to mention WV next Tuesday, then ATM won't either. I'd like to see ISU win or at least be close late, but a mid-conference season, non-conference game, should almost be ignored by the NCAA tourney committee since no one else is doing it.
And play who? We dress 9-10 players.
I don't know how much of this is on purpose but the first weekend of the tournament is always during Spring break. that could be a factor. It wont fail at all. It sucks to have to go on the road, but as long as the home and road flips every year, it wont be bad. The only thing that sucks is that everyone loses their bye-game with this being worked in. You could start conference season a tad sooner to make up for it, but then you run the risk of having up to 3 conference games with no students. It would be nice to have the NCAA move the final four back two weeks, and allow conference season to start the week students are back and go for 10 weeks. Have the championship game in late April, and then have opening day in baseball the following Monday.
I can't speak for the others, but I think if taking a day or two off would help anyone on this team, now would be the time to do it.a lot of people acting like if McKay doesn't play we lose automatically.
It would be stupid to purposely lose this game. It's not like that would guarantee a big 12 title or even an ncaa berth. Win every game you can and hope for the best at the end of the year.
a lot of people acting like if McKay doesn't play we lose automatically.
I can't understand the people saying we should rest our starters for Texas A&M, the No. 5 team in the country. Getting a chance to prove yourself against the best teams in the country is what basketball is all about!
Not playing McKay <> Losing on purpose
Are people really advocating for this? I see talk about resting an injured player. Beyond that would, indeed, be crazy talk.
Yes, in this very thread. Are people really advocating for this? I see talk about resting an injured player. Beyond that would, indeed, be crazy talk.
I think there's two arguments. Resting McKay to help his knee is good. Resting people to rest them is not.Not playing McKay <> Losing on purpose
Totally agree. We've looked so much better without him on the court the last few weeks.
College kids happen to get tired too. And sometimes rest can be good for them too. I can understand other arguments in favor of doing everything we can to win this game, but to suggest that college kids can't benefit from rest?

The "Source" says Jameel is sound. Wall let's hope so however I've learned long ago no such thing a "valid" source. Basketball teams are notorious for hiding players injuries..........some for good reasons.........and most for not good reasons.
