Seemingly never ending Iowa MBB thread (still going.....)

Re: Iowa MBB now a projected #1 seed

In full fairness I have a hard time believing Iowa is #1 seed worthy, but with the parity this year and no super teams in front of them, it is all up for grabs. Let the season play out and we will see what happens. I think the only #1 seed with the most certainty is UNC. We will learn a lot about Iowa in the next two games.

Re: Iowa MBB now a projected #1 seed

Iowa @ (#224 RPI) Rutgers - 90-76 (14 pts)

(#287 RPI) Arkansas Pine Bluff @ ISU - 64-78 (14 pts)

It's like you guys don't even try anymore.

Are you really trying to compare piles of **** to determine which pile smells better?

No, he's not. He's countering whoever made fun of Iowa's performance against Rutgers (which wasn't a good performance but I'll take the dub).

Re: Iowa MBB now a projected #1 seed

Dont like this either (op) but they are taking care of business at the moment. So kudos to them. Im sure itll all straighten out eventually.
I agree that everything will be clearer as the season progresses. Seems tha ISU will have more opportunities to move up with their schedule. Looks like Iowa has the easier road though they could stumble.

No he isn't, he is pointing out ISU only beat a YMCA team by 14 at Hilton and not even on the road and weren't punished by the polls.

Re: Iowa MBB now a projected #1 seed

Hawks are a good team and are every bit as likely as ISU to do well in the NCAA this year.

There....can we close this thread now.

Re: Iowa MBB now a projected #1 seed

I find it ironic how Hawk fans love to point to all these metrics that show Iowa is better than ISU right now, but then ignore that those same metrics have the Big 10 as the 6th best conference in basketball.

Agreed. There will be at least a couple of #1 seeds that will not be scary to other teams. Heck, UNC looks great and the most dominant of any team and they lost to a mediocre UNI team. Basically you can take most all of the teams in the Top 25 and if one of them has a good two weeks they are viewed as being Top 10 worthy.

Funny so many Iowa fans I know wanted to fire Fran after the Augustana loss, and fire Ferentz exactly one year ago.

You bandwagoners are like a fungus......keep creeping back as if you never left.......

Re: Iowa MBB now a projected #1 seed

I didn't read the whole thread, but I would take this bracket. Duke is down, and Iowa would lose in the round of 32 to Notre Dame for the second time this year.

Re: Iowa MBB now a projected #1 seed

Could I also point out that this same Iowa team lost at home to a D2 school?

You can but what is the point? That game was an exhibition and doesn't have anything to do with the season. That game matters about as much as the game ISU lost in August in Spain.

Find me one Hawkeye that had claimed the big ten to be strong this year?

Iowa's schedule had been strong. Big difference.

Big difference between losing to a national team who qualified for the Rio Olympics this summer, and losing to a team who went on to lose against a team called Washburn a week after beating your team.
