It's gonna be a long year

Otz a better hire than Phrom...I wouldn't go that far but I would say that Prohm is not Fred Hoiberg or even Scott Drew...I noticed that Drew was outta time outs fairly early in the 2nd half, Prohm lets the other Teams go on a run for way too long before calling a timeout......

Wait until Prohm has his players running his system before you make those type of assessments. The timeout thing is overblown IMO.

Prohm is terrible. All this talk of how he inherited a final four team and we cant even beat UNI or Baylor at home after Kansas beat them by 35. Horrible, horrible coaching. How bad will we suck next year after we lose 5 starters?

He inherited an inconsistent 8 loss team who showed they were capable of losing to anyone in the 1st round of the tourney last year.

Next year's team will have 2 starters back. If Morris leaves, he's talking to the wrong people. Nothing against him--really great to watch, but I don't see an NBA player.

If Prohm is terrible (he isn't), the same narrative needs to be used for Fred Hoiberg, because he had similar results with a better roster last season.

Tom Izzo ACTUALLY had a Final Four team back, and they're pretty marginal without their best player.

Yeah, Morris can do whatever he chooses, but he is NOT an NBA player right now at all.... not even close.

well, Niang said not to panic in his post game...so i won't panic. But he also said it was a learning experience. I remember hearing all that stuff two years ago..then again last year...and don't expect to hear it again this year.

We are more experienced than Baylor and are a better team. We play lazy and try to shoot our way out of trouble.

This game was not coached well either. Someone tell me why Thomas was in the game to foul for the 5th time? Absolutely terrible loss as far as I'm concerned.

How so? They are a much more complete team.

The NFL sucks, I'd rather watch table tennis
Continuing to prove how out of touch with reality Cyclone fans are. Hoiberg won here but it obviously drained him to do so. ISU will never be great at any sport. Its time for the fans to just stop. You just look stupid to everyone outside of Ames. We have no advantages in any sport outside of wrestling and we burnt that program down when Gable went to Coach across the state. This is our place. We can be a spoiler and feel good story. We are not a power.

Holy cow people, if you thought we could win the B12 title, you missed the first 12 games.
This loss isn't the end of the world but there will still be many more so get used to the roller coaster. I foresee us anywhere between 3-5 in conference standing.
And for god sakes, quit insulting the players. Saying they aren't playing well or look out of shape, etc, is fine but calling them weak, worthless, etc is out of line imo. Get a life.

Basketball can be an exception. Besides, no one is expecting to be a KU, but challenging for the crown is a realistic expectation because ISU has achieved it before already.

And last year.
We had holes last season and while other teams got better in the off-season we went through a coaching change in June.

we'll have to disagree. I feel we have a better set of leaders with experience...and should NOT get beat at home by Baylor. Niang said it at his post game that he was guilty of trying to "quick fix" with fast shots and poor decision making.

He admitted to not playing as tough on defense as a team...I have no beef with the guys and don't expect anything more than consistent play from experienced juniors and seniors.

Fact is, we're not as good as we all have believed we are. Not a huge deal so expectations will have to be adjusted.

You do realize that is the second year in a row the same group got beat by Baylor?

Baylor is a better team, but yes, we could have out-played them today with our A game.

Agreed! Prohm game plan and rotations are very very poor. Didn't do a very good job of getting Burton or Cooke involved. If he doesn't get a better rotation that gets Burton and Cooke involved we're going to have a long season! Our starting five has two very streaky players, so we're going to need Burton or Cooke. I'm really starting to think Otz would of been a better hire than Phrom.

What game were you watching burton recently and Cooke all season have been a huge step down from our starting 5. They had opportunities today to contribute and played poorly burton on both ends. You couldn't afford to keep them in. Not a lot of options for prohm.

Baylor is a better team, .

They had some sophomores that looked really good; they could be a B12 leader in the next few years. They had great production from the bench.

Or by not giving up 60 points in the second half...we can beat Baylor without our A game in Hilton. Let's not act like they are world beaters.

They're a good team. They are not a great team.

It will be nothing like last year. 9-9 ish. -- going to lay a few eggs here and there.

We'll win a few, but unlike last year, be lucky to make NCAA>
