Cincinnati line

Such as? When a team scores 30 more points from behind the arc, most of which were contested, its safe to say its the main reason we lost.
I'd say poor defense altogether was the main reason we lost.

Hot shooting made our defense look worse than it was. I don't know how anyone could watch that game and not think UNI shot unuasually well from the outside. This includes several highly contested step back jumpers from Washpun who has been an average jump shooter in his career, at best.

Annoying how people keep blaming the loss on hot shooting. We could have and should have won that game. There were more & bigger reasons we lost that game then UNI being "hot".
Yep. We failed to guard two shooters at three point line.

Lotsa reasons but UNI being hot was probably the primary one.

The following things had to happen for us to lose by 2 to a good basketball team:

-We had to go 3/17 from 3
-UNI had to go 13/22 from 3
-Washpun had to hit some ridiculous shots over not just his guy but McKay
-We had to give away a possession with Georges at the end and Morris had to miss
-All of this while trying to replace a 2 year starter and working a new guy in

Let's just cool the jets on there being huge problems we haven't seen before. This team wasn't going to morph into some version of a Huggins team on the defensive end and we knew that. When a team shoot like UNI did combined with ISU shooting like they did, you are often going to lose. We were able to balance that out in the turnover battle and OReb. Pile on top of that that Morris isn't 100% and sometimes you just lose in college basketball. What is really annoying is people acting like we lost to a bad team.

UNI was shooting better than they usually do from 3, no doubt. But our defense inside the 3 point line was not as good as it needs to be.

Washpun scored 28 pts with only 2 3 pointers and had 11 assists. I'd say it was more like 1a and1b.
This is what I'm talking about. Jesperson was definitely hot. I mean 7 for 9 from three is crazy good and a lot of them were tough shots. But Washpun's huge game was not just being hot. He was defended poorly.

This is basketball not football where the margins are smaller and if you don't bring it every night you will lose games that you should win...........

Just ask North Carolina and Kansas...both have already lost games they should have won.....

Simply Put UNI wanted the game more and it showed with the way they played with a "sense of urgency".......

I have a feeling this game could get ugly. They are a very physical team that plays excellent defense.

The problem is UNI just lost by 20 points to New Mexico and ISU needed to put everything into just making it close at the end. ISU hasn't looked that good all year. They have only played good in spurts and it's almost conference time.

Yeah he pretty much did whatever he wanted the whole game with little resistance

I don't think so. Their offense doesn't exactly light the world on fire, and teams that have stopped us from scoring are few and far between. We need to play solid defense and play our game on the other end. We do that, we win.

They have the 12th best defense and the 44th best offense. 44th isn't bad at all and its at their place. If ISU gets down in the first half again I don't seem them making it close. I think Cincinnati wins by 10.
