OU would roll the hawkeyes

Oh son of a *****.

Well the now part isn't true either. Ohio State beat a top 10 team in the non con that season and was ranked #8 in week 2

They still had a ton of close calls, including against teams they had no business losing to (Purdue, Illinois, Wisconsin and Cincinnati).

That said, this team ain't the 2002 Buckeyes, and it's not about the schedule. There were 43 starters in the 2003 Fiesta Bowl (Chris Gamble started both ways), and 37 of them were drafted. Among Iowa's starters, the only guys I'd give any shot of being drafted would be King, Lomax, Beathard, Tevaun Smith, Blythe, Jewell, Welsh and Daniels. Most of those guys are long shots (King and Blythe I'm very confident will be drafted, Jewell and Beathard are solid maybes, and the rest are more likely to be UFA's).

Like Danny Kanell said yesterday, this team doesn't pass the eye test athletically, but they do pass it in every other facet. It's a team that's greater than the sum of its parts.

Ohio State also blew out a 9 win Texas Tech team and a top 10 team in the first three weeks of the season that year. Ohio State was highly regarded all season and I don't see any comparison whatsoever to that team.

I assume you stopped reading after the first sentence.

Oklahoma waves bye bye to the hoks as they fly by them in the CFB standings. I think it's pretty clear if Clemson, Alabama, Oklahoma, and Notre Dame, who still plays Stanford will make up the top 4 if they all win out. Even if the hoks win out. Hilarious!

LOL. Iowa and Michigan State will have the last opportunity to make an impression, and either way, the win will be more impressive than ND over Stanford.

Haha

I think you are misunderstanding the national appeal Notre Dame has. Any time Notre Dame only has 1 loss, they will be in the playoff.

If this helps you sleep better tonight, I totally agree.
