Dear America - Iowa Doesn't Care What You Think

Why? #9 with plenty of opportunity to move up?

I don't think that word means what you think it means.

Looking at most Iowa fan reaction on Twitter and elsewhere shows the predominant reaction is outrage to such a criminally low ranking. I applaud you for being happier with a position that will likely end up putting Iowa in the Peach Bowl if they finish with a 12-1 record (likely). You have tempered your expectations realistically.

Still going, much like the Energizer Bunny, and inclusive of much laffy taffy to the twelfth power!

Y'all do know that if IISU was having a decent season, outside of the lunatic fringe, most Iowa fans would be pulling for them correct? Probably a shocking statement to some of you guys, based solely on what I read here, and my own personal conclusions. But its' true. Think about that for a while, and then examine your own winning lives.

You couldn't be more wrong but that's par for the course with you

You mean the B1G championship game? Otherwise I'm struggling.to see the opportunities with that joke of a schedule.

The opportunities are the teams ahead of us falling off as they lose with those tough schedules. Not that hard.

When the best team Iowa has beaten all year is Iowa State, they're lucky to be in the top 10 at all.

Like I said earlier in the thread, "Dear Iowa - America doesn't care what you think."

I'm not seeing many opportunities for teams to fall below Iowa.

TCU plays Oklahoma State this weekend. If TCU wins, they will move up. If they lose, Oklahoma State will pass Iowa and it will be a wash when TCU falls.

Baylor may lose to Oklahoma in a couple of weeks. If so, OU will jump Iowa and it will be a wash when BU falls.

If Notre Dame loses to Pitt this weekend, there's one spot for Iowa to move up. But if they lose to Stanford - their only other tough game - it will be a wash again as Stanford will jump Iowa.

It will be interesting to see how Michigan State is treated. I think Iowa may jump them if MSU loses to OSU, but MSU would probably have a chance to jump Iowa right back with a win over Penn State in the final week. Then an Iowa loss to OSU in Indianapolis would probably help secure MSU's spot over Iowa and send the Spartans to Pasadena.

Even taking off any cardinal and gold glasses I may have on, I don't see much of a path for Iowa to get higher than #7 in any given week and even then they would be at risk of dropping back a spot or two even if they finish 12-1. It could be worse than that as well if certain teams win and Iowa may find itself on the outside of the New Year's Six bowls even at 12-1.

We destroyed the #21 team by 30 in their house with our #4 RB and a one legged QB.

Compared to that, ISU is... well, a nice team.

It may be harder than you think since some of those teams will probably have to lose more than one game to drop below the Hawks. You all ready have 2 teams with a loss in front of you, and 2 right behind.

Whatever, none of this matters. Go undefeated, including the B1G championship, and the Hawks are probably in. Anything else and no chance in hell. That's the simple part.

Agree.

Do you know where you are right now?

In Iowa. Then off to Bloomington, Indiana. After that a short trip to Las Vegas. Back in time for the Iowa game. Some work. Then Florida for the winter. I'm in my 40"s, you didn't really think someone in their 40's actually spent winters in Iowa did you? Not someone who has half a brain, and knows how to make money. And also understands college football. Because most of the afore mentioned don't apply to teh vast majority on this thread.

Again, sit back, reflect, if you were half as smart as you thought you were, would you really be where you're at?

And yes it is true, the vast majority of Iowa fans would cheer on a successful ISU football season. Most of the rest of them are on here. And they baited you into a multi page, idiot thread that has little to do with reality, or college football. For God's sake, look at your own thread predicting a 2-10 season.

You don't believe this because you think like the one that wouldn't cheer on a successful ISU season. You are exactly like them. It is great comedy actually. Not everyone is like you. For example, me.

This guy is either Bode or he's...

Personally, I have many leather-bound books and my apartment smells of rich mahogany, unlike you, peasant.

Now that's good. See? Laffy is easy. It's fun, and people who laffy live longer. Don't argue with these peoples (plural) make laffy of them, and live longer.

#1 Clemson

#2 Iowa

Laffy, laffy, laffy! Laffy taffy!

I'm beginning to worry about a potential mental impairment with our friend Caddy.

You were doing so well with that one post. Making laffy. Now you're back to serious. Prolly gonna die of a stroke tomorrow.

I encourage you to laffy. It's easy. Just read some posts on here. If this doesn't make you laffy, then seek help.

Its going to be difficult for Iowa to move up too much since there are a couple of 1-loss teams ahead of them. Both TCU and Baylor still have to play 3 of the Top 15. If each win 2 of 3, their resume may still better than an undefeated Iowa in the eyes of the playoff committee. That's evident by Alabama being so high. Bama has beaten one Top 20 team and lost to 1 Top 20 team.
