My mothers "save everything till the house is bursting at the seams" approach to her late life finally paid off for me. My more modern Technics receiver/amp has been intermittently pooping out on me and final died for good. Last trip home I was rummaging around in the attic and there sat this vintage Pioneer SX-750. Just cleaned it up, wired it and fired it up this rainy afternoon. Sounds awesome! Thing is kind of a beast, weighs 32 pounds, but multipe times the clean power of that crap Technics I had been running.
I had lugged that back down to Iowa to donate it to the local charity sale years ago. Apparently it never got past my mom's house. Pretty sure this once belonged to CWW#2 and her first hubby in Seattle.

pushing 3 inches of rain last night between 7 and 2. DH said he walked around the yard today looking at the spots he filled with soil/gauging the seed situation and it just made him mad.
The back of our neighbor's lawn is a sort of detention pond. It's all brown with sediment. Lot of water sat back there. DH said when it gets a bit drier, he's going to dig some of the mud out of easement to try and reclaim some of the grass seed he can see sitting there in clumps.

When I got home yesterday there was mulch, topsoil and sand in my driveway, the result of all the neighbors runoff running through my shade garden down my path and onto my driveway. Happens in really big storms every year or so but not usually in September.

Just took the banana bread out of the oven. My oldest says "It smells like comfort". The 4yr old is also all "Yum, it smells so good!" Good thing I am grilling the fish for dinner outside. That will totally ruin the banana bread mojo.
You want the grilled salmon? That may smell quite a bit by the time it gets to Hawaii. . .
Just the boy, dog and me tonight and tomorrow night while Mrs. Wx is off doing fun things. It is acceptable to have a beer when you are on baby duty right?
Probably top 5 hated poster. If it wouldn't get me banned, I would add a most hated posters to my signature. A few other ones would be there, including one that stops by RT every once in a while (don't ask).
