There is an ISU connection. Linda of Oak Hall painted this and gave it to me as a Christmas "card" when I was a freshman at ISU.

I actually have another one to because later college girlfriend was jealous of the rock and painted me another one so I had one from her. See 2015, gals got weird back in the day also.

Obviously the first one. If it was the second there is no way you could take your eyes off of that shzz long enough to post something in RTV.

Now, to be clear, not sure I agree with the premise, kotaku is kind of a gamer/comic book style blog, so they're looking for that style of medium. It kind of comes across as the hipster "it's not what I like so it sucks," but I thought it was interesting to read about the earlier days, that's before my time. I was, though, more of a Calvin and Hobbes kid than Peanuts.

I grew up with the 50's and 60's version. Can't say that I disagree with anything the guy suggests.

Calvin agrees.

That strip is even more interesting when you realize that Watterson never agreed to merchandize or commercialize his strip. Every time you see Calvin peeing on a Ford logo it is pirated.

When I comptemplate Peanuts I get a little sad. I had a cousin who was a huge Snoopy fan. She collected stuffed Snoopys from the time she was a toddler. She had just about every imaginable themed Snoopy doll. She died unexpectedly in her early 20's and it was heartbreaking seeing all her little neices and nephews, not to mention my aunt walking around at the funeral clutching a Snoopy. They made sure everyone got one to remember her by.

got trapped in a convo that sucked 30 minutes away from time I needed for this data. SIGHHHHHHHHHH.


someone finally came out to look at the window. DH was home and he said the guy said that I'm one of kind for what I did. He's never seen that before and doesn't think the guy at the company has either. He was able to get the coils uncoiled and out of the way so we can at least finally put the window in the sill and lock it shut. Yay no more futon holding it in and towels everywhere so like last night during the pouring rain we don't get the leak onto the wall and floor.

But yes, "one of a kind". I feel special!

Well, I can see his point, as well, but I can see the other side, too...not emotionally invested either way...put the disclaimer there so it was clear that I was posting it as an interesting read, rather than a "oh, you like it? Here's why it sucked" thing.

I love that the retirement community van/bus in town has ISU plates that say PRTYBUS.

I prefer my banana-flavored baking goods to taste more like bananas so, banana bread for me, thanks.

What thread got shut down due to bananas this year? CG...you were there. Mods shut it down and I posted "bananas" somewhere in a different thread. Anyway...it was bananas.
 
Okay, will make some banana bread later.

I love my parents, but they don't quite know how to run the amazing interwebz (my dad mostly). He is trying to tell me that he couldn't find any Maytag washers on sears.com (there were 8 top load that I brought up). Then he tells me he didn't find any on lowes.com (57 results). At least he was texting me the info,.he can handle that usually.
