I guess another way to look at this is by asking yourself the question:

Would you rather have the currently 16th ranked player in the class of 2018 or the 95th ranked player in the class of 2016?

I think 95% of fans - hawks or clones - would go with the latter.

Well, sure. But im not going to be upset with either. Its stills something to get a bit excited about. The prospect of him panning out is a pretty fun thing to think about.

I personally don't give a **** what that guy has to say. I'm saying I came here for constructive recruiting news and instead what I found was a fan ******* match.

You came to a Cyclone board for constructive Hawkeye recruiting news? That sounds like a you problem.

According to Rivals rating system:

Five Stars:

  • 6.1 Franchise player who is in the elite of the elite. College superstar and upper end lottery pick after one year of college.

  • 6.0 An elite prospect. Will dominate in college. Pegged as a first-round draft pick after a year or two of college.

  • 5.9 A five-star prospect, who is expected to have an immediate impact on the college game. Should be a solid NBA prospect with some development in college.

Four Stars:

  • 5.8 Either a unique prospect with a good possibility of developing into a NBA prospect or a great college prospect who will garner all conference recognition during his career.

  • 5.7 A four-star prospect who is capable of playing a significant role for an upper end high-major program.

So a 5 star is projected to be elite, a 4 star should have a significant role.

Not everyone may agree with you on your statement.

Who are the 5.7's or higher in this incoming recruiting class of 6 players?

Wasn't Jok a 5 star early in his HS career and supposed to be one of the top players in the country?

Not sure what you're ******** about, all of the recruiting news is in the thread. What info do you want that's not here?

When the news was over a discussion between Iowa and ISU fans kept going. Shocking in a thread about a commit both offered. If you don't like it no one is forcing you to read it.

So he does have a chance to improve, at midway through his collegiate career?

I'm trying to figure out which side you want to be on. Can he, or can he not improve? If he can, why are you saying the book is written on him?

Where did I say that? I'll wait...

I'm quite intrigued to find out where you came to the assumption that I said there was one. Please elaborate.

I haven't paid much attention to Iowa basketball recruiting so I guess I just assumed one of the 6 players they brought was considered a prospect who is capable of playing a significant role for an upper end high-major program.

Thanks for calling us an upper end high major program!

lol, again, youre putting words into mouths. I said they were very talented. Didnt say they were four stars, and I certainly didnt say anything about contribution. All I said was they were talented, and were injecting some much needed athleticism into our program. You blew that waaaaaay out of proportion.

If they're very talented and are athletic why aren't any of them 4 star recruits?

Yeah, he was a top 5 player when he was a freshman, but had a knee injuries a few times in his career in HS, and that has really affected his explosiveness. He has a really, really pretty lookin shot, and you can still see glimpses of his athleticism, but unfortunately he didnt project to what recruiting gurus thought, obviously because of the injury.

I have heard, though, that his knees are healthy again, but it comes down to him trusting them. Whether he will or not, who knows.

I'd say they all appear to be role players to me, and I hope that a few of them accomplish greater than that. Time will tell.

Well, I came to those numbers because that was close to the combined numbers we got from Olesani and Woody. Now, granted 15 and 8 is pretty lofty, so Ill back track a bit. Ill take 10 and 6-8 from him. .

How about blocks? How many blocks per game are you predicting?

I'm just saying I don't think Fred's first rule was to lock down the borders and it's pretty evident

Fred's rules > Fran's rules

I couldn't care less where players come from but if I had to choose I'd pick transfers and players from out of state

Well Fred's gone and you landed zero transfers this season so you're gonna need a new recruiting pitch. RIP Hoiball.
