Murray State Board

Their reactions are not dissimilar to how we reacted to Hoiberg/Chicago.

Surprisingly, I actually know exactly where Murray is, but only because I recently drove by it on my way back from Florida to St. Louis. There really isn't much around it.

I found the comments about him wanting the Alabama job to be interesting.

Interesting read. They liked their coach and didn't want him to leave. I can understand that. As for the comments about ISU / Ames / Iowa, no different than comments I read from Iowa Staters about other places far and wide.

I believe we only say that about a certain village in eastern Iowa.

Since 1985, ISU has had 15 20+ win seasons, or one every other year on average. Of these 31 seasons, only 9 were outright losing seasons - and FOUR of them were from Greg McDermott

Over the last 31 seasons, ISU is averaging about 19 wins per season. BOTTOM FEEDER! These guys are just perpetrating the stereotype of people in Kentucky.

Yea! And they don't even know what real Chinese food is!

Are you talking about at the press conference? If so, he was literally wearing an ISU tie..

I would just like to know where Joaquin Phoenix got an ISU tie.

Right?!

And not to disparage Mrs. Prohm's hometown, but it's pretty rich that someone from Murray would call Ames the "armpit of Iowa".
I had to do some research, cause I know nothing about Murray. Turns out, it would be like having a D1 program in a place like Ottumwa. Or Fort Dodge, or Muscatine, or Burlington.

Their bottom feeder comments got me thinking. If you use the 100 years type stats yeah we are slightly below average among these teams who have been in and out of our league...but since the Big 12 was formed we're average to slightly above average and we are #2 to KU in hardware, a distant #2, but still #2.

This is just my personal opinion but I give Regular Season Championship 1 point, shared regular season championship .75 points, Big 12 Tournament Championship .5 points. That's just how I feel about it, if you don't agree fine. Here are all time Big 12 hardware accumulation stats according to that:

Kansas: 18.5
Iowa State: 3.5 (1 point is very recent, #2 in outright regular season titles, #3 in overall regular titles, tied for #2 in tournament titles, #2 in overall Big 12 trophies)
Texas: 2.5 (no points for a decade)
Oklahoma: 2.25 (no points in over a decade)
Oklahoma St: 2 (no points in over a decade)
Kansas St: .75
Missouri: .5
Nebraska: 0
Tech: 0
A&M: 0
Baylor: 0!!!
Colorado: 0
WVU: 0 (think they'd have a point or two if they had been in all along)
TCU: 0

So in terms of actually winning, we are a long long long long way from being below average in our conference, we're clearly #2. It's also interesting that KSU and Missouri could never really take anything from rival KU while ISU has smacked them in the mouth a few times.

I like the idea - I realize it'd be a bunch more work, but I think it'd be more meaningful to just exclude KU, call them awesome, and then see who was the runner-up in all of those categories over the Big 12's lifespan. Probably give a much more meaningful spread of "second-place-ness"

KSU did all they needed to do to win the conference title outright a few years ago. Unfortunately KU was gifted a game to keep the streak alive.

Watch your mouth. You're talking about Mrs Prohm's hometown.

True, I wanted to bring that up so bad but even some of our own posters basically hate me because I don't give Kansas any credit for winning the Big 12 that year. (you know because their title was as real as a WWF wrestling match)
