Most Bulls fans I know want them to keep Thibs. Weird situation but typical for the way the Bulls are managed I guess.

That sounds like they expect him to leave."Regardless of what happens, I will be wearing a Cyclone uniform and nothing can change that, and I know a lot of my teammates feel the same way," Niang wrote in text to the Register.
"This university has done so much for me that I want to finish my career here."

Half of me agrees completly, the other half has Fred so built up I want to and maybe choose to believe the BS.
I was a diehard Cyclone basketball fan through 2005 then my career changed and became very busy. 05' brought a couple of unexpected family deaths, I got married and in in 06' had a 10 week premature son that made me a NICU regular for 2 months during time I would have watched the Cyclones. By the time my second son came during the 07-08 season I had mostly trimmed the Cubs and Cyclone basketball out of my life catching the occasional game if I came across it was pretty much just football for me. By 2009-10 I couldn't name a player.
When they hired Fred I was instantly engaged again. Fred was my favorite player when I was in Jr. High and High School. I even watched a lot of his early NBA career. Hence, I watched every game in 2010-11 and went to most of them with my then 4 year old son buying one of the ticket packs they used to offer. He is 8 now and hasn't missed a Cyclone Basketball game (except the big Monday ones he fell asleep forit is kind of our thing. When he was 5 he got really sick, underwent chemo and couldn't go to games or really leave the house because he was so immune suppressed but never missed one. He isn't a big football fan (doesn't really get it) but he refused to be one of Kirk's kid captains because they wouldn't let him wear an ISU jersey at the game (he went to U of I hospitals for treatment), he is a diehard and loyal Cyclone because of Fred. When he finished his treatment and got the all clear and we went to Dayton for the tourney he chose this over Disney World. The 2 years he was getting treatment Cyclone basketball, Royce White, Chris Babb, Fred and company gave him something to look forward to, hope, distraction and enjoyment. It gave us something we could share too. For that I will be eternally grateful.
He told me last week his dream was to be a scientist and play basketball for the Cyclones and asked how he could do what Fred did (be a ball boy etc.) because he wanted to be like Fred. Given all this and how much Cyclone basketball has meant to us. I was bracing on how to tell him Fred was likely leaving because I knew he would be crushed, it has really been a special ride for us. Hell at age 6 he used Fred's loyalty to convince me not to move to Michigan.
Anyway, I told him last night and to my suprise he was fine with it. He said "I know, Caleb told me at school yesterday. He is going to the Bulls, now we will have two teams to cheer for!" I smiled and said "I guess we will".
Sorry for the long winded diatribe but as he often does he gave me a little perspective. Fred is a guy that has his own kids and own dreams and wants what's best for them the same way I do. He has given us a lot and I will forever be grateful despite the emotions I may feel. So for me and my son Fred is still our guy and always will be and now I get to spend more time with my son watching another team. At the end of the day that is really what it is all about.

You are struggling. Take your pills to clear your depression and hopefully your comprehension improves.
Fred clearly knows and respects the program much greater than you. He knows the program will be fine even with him taking a couple weeks to decide to leave.
Nice to hear the team is willing to stick it out next year. It makes me sick the fact Hoiberg finally gets the rules he wanted in place (cough cough 30' shot clock), his best team, a challenging non conference schedule, fan excitement at an all time high...just in time to leave. It would have been the icing on the cake if ISU had the eligibility to play in Des Moines for the big dance too."Regardless of what happens, I will be wearing a Cyclone uniform and nothing can change that, and I know a lot of my teammates feel the same way," Niang wrote in text to the Register.

Or he may be tired of answering the question every 5 minutes. That sounds like they expect him to leave.

Most Bulls fans I know want them to keep Thibs. Weird situation but typical for the way the Bulls are managed I guess.
If Fred leaves, I will be ******. I don't want to be told how to feel about it. I don't care if people say I am butthurt. I will be ****** and I will not wish Fred well with the Bulls. In fact, the Bulls will be the team I root against the most in the NBA for taking him from us. Here are my reasons:
1. I love Iowa State. I want Iowa State basketball to win a National Championship more than I want any team I root for to win a title.
2. I think that Fred Hoiberg as our coach is the best chance to win that title and I also believe that he knows that too.
3. As much as I love Iowa State, I could not imagine in my heart that I love Iowa State more than Fred Hoiberg does. I did not grow up as an ISU fan. I am not from Iowa. I did not play for ISU. I don't live in Ames or have family there. There is not way that I could love ISU more than Fred.
4. How Fred could do this to something he loves so much is unimaginable. I breaks my heart. I will forgive him, but I will not root for him or wish him well unless he someday decides to come back to ISU and coach again.
5. We may get a very good coach to replace Fred, but he will never be Fred. There will always be a hole if Fred leaves.
So that is how I feel. I don't care if you don't like it.
Iowa State basketball star Georges Niang is back home in Boston, working out and reading deep-thought books while word continues to swirl that he could be playing for a new coach next season.
Wtf is that supposed to mean?
It sounds to me the only hold up is the Bulls trying to get something for Thibs without having to fire hm and pay his contract out.
It's Randy trying to be cute. Based on Twitter, Georges has apparently been reading motivational books. Peterson can write anything he wants, I guess. Such a horrible reporter and writer. It's unfortunate he's been given the ISU beat, and newspapers are now nothing more than the athletic department PR team. He's seen as a Cyclone, when in fact, he's just an idiot with a platform.
The only thing I want for a little justice in this whole situation is for Thibs to force the Bullz to fire him and get no draft picks and lose the 9 million, and then get beat by the Pelicans in the 1st round of the playoffs next year with Thibs at the helm.
