NFL: ***Official NFL Draft Thread***

Steelers don't trade up a lot so if they do then there is someone they REALLY want. Interesting.

Biggest reach in the top ten. Don't understand taking a guy at #5 that is projected to be a guard. Left tackle, maybe.

Probably because in RG3's last year of his contract knowing what they gave up to get him they wanna protect him to see if they can salvage. Scherff will be at right tackle with Williams at the LT since RT side gave up 14 sacks last year. Also gives them better opportunity to run to either side more effectively now.

Still overpayed for a RT. Probably couldn't get anyone to trade up.

To me, there's a big difference between making a good pick, and getting good value for a pick. Too many times, the analysts that do these draft grades look at who a team got, and judge the pick based on where they took the player. Travis Frederick was a prime example of this. Lots of analysts gave Dallas a bad grade for taking him where they did in the first round. The grade was given, mostly because of where they took him, rather than how good he was. As it turned out, it was a heck of a pick.

Scherff may or may not be a similar situation. If he's a starter on the Washington line, (at any position) for the next 5-6 years, it won't really matter if he might still have been available 4-5 picks later.

My thoughts exactly. It was either Scherff or the USC DE and they wanted to go offense and beef up the O Line since they have picked up DL in free agency. Ill bet nobody was jumping at the chance to give up picks to move to number 5.

It is totes awesome we can see an interview with Jamie Fox on Sportscenter right before the start of the 2nd round. I am really glad I can hear Jamie talk about how he gets in to character and his impressions. That is nice of ESPN.

Love it. Wish my Gints would've gotten Scherff, but they landed the best true LT and SS on the board. I'll take it.

Wanted Gregory, but I like this pick. Getting a big nose tackle is defintiely a need

Yeah, they're going 3-4 this year, aren't they. You need that big man in the middle
