Remind me, was he also the Ferentz boy who was stealing from taxpayers by living in subsidized housing, or was that a different Ferentz boy?

Brian lived at Pheasant Ridge. James' brother. Brian is now a coach at Iowa.

How is playing a certain RB safer? Did everyone have fumbling issues but Weisman?

When one guy is a 240 lb. bowling ball with both arms covering the ball running north south and the other guy is a slasher with the ball in one arm running laterally looking for holes to hit and cutbacks to make, seems reasonable that a coach like Kautious Kirk would have his favorite. Doesn't mean that's the guy that gives our offense the best opportunity to move the ball.

Absolutely. You were replying to Gonzo, but if you really don't think Daniels and Canzeri are better than a walk on fullback I question your ability to be even 1% impartial.

Edit: This was in response to cytwins.

Weisman actually was not too bad. In fact, he has pretty good stats. Only the 3rd Iowa rusher to rush for over 800 yards in 3 consecutive seasons.

I think if either were clearly better they would have started. Ferentz wants to win and Hawk fans always preach how good the backup's are. Reminds me when everyone thought Powell was good and then KF put him out there and he was terrible...same with Beathard in the bowl game

As president of ISU's chapter of the Jake Rudock fanboy club, you really need to come to grips with the fact that JR lost the job and move on. Maybe invest in some maize and blue.
So then how come does Harbaugh like him so much?

Beathard was 13-23 for 145 yards and 2 TD's (1 int). Hardly terrible and certainly better than Rudock.

Because Harbaugh has zero experience on the roster at QB, and he doesn't want to spend his first season waiting for guys to improve. He can bring in a a decent, experienced QB to manage the team for one season. No brainer if you're Harbaugh.

Nah. You don't know KF. This is a guy who started Paki O'Meara at RB at the beginning of the season over guys like Jewell Hampton and Marcus Coker. Paki f****** O'Meara. Because he was a senior. It took a nuclear meltdown before KF budged and took O'Meara out and started the more talented younger guys.

We're not going to agree so no point debating it. If you think a football coach who is competitive and is making 4 mill a year is purposely playing worse players and leaving these super talented players on the bench than you're not very intelligent

You need to pay more attention to Iowa football if you want to make claims like this and follow up those claims with insults. Ferentz has played incumbents and seniors over more talented players throughout his career at Iowa. There are myriad examples of this. Some of the most egregious were McCann over Banks, Christensen over Stanzi, and O'Meara over Hampton and Coker.

And then you can list the super talented fan favorites that looked horrible when they played like Powell, Beathard, etc. KF wants to win more than you want them to win. Sometimes young players aren't ready to play right away or don't have a grasp of the offense early in the season. If you think Daniels was a better option than Weisman last year then all I can say is LOL

I'm right. You're wrong. You aren't very intelligent if you don't agree with me. End of discussion.

In my defense I have an entire coaching staff, statistics and common sense on my side. Hawk fans just want to believe every backup is better because the starters aren't that good

You're getting desperate. If you think that you, someone who hates Iowa everything, knows more about the culture of Iowa football under KF than someone who's been a lifelong Iowa fan and has watched every play of every game for as long as can be remembered, then all I can say is LOL.

Yea I was a big Rudock and Weisman fan. Cmon man

It's not a coicedence you all of a sudden talk up their ability as soon as they are no longer on the team. It is apparent you have no familiarity with Ferentz's track record of favoring the more experienced player. Which I can't say I'm surprised you don't know what you're talking about. Aaron White says hi from the 1st Team All Big 10 (which you claimed he'd never get selected for btw).
