We've won 3 of the last 4 against KU. Pretty much domination.
Sounds like the ISU team took that same mentality of "if we can beat Kansas twice in a season then we are awesome" into the tourney. Mizzou used to treat beating Kansas as the measuring stick for their season also, no matter the results of the rest of the games. Don't be Mizzou.

I think people are already forgetting just how close we were to winning regular season outright. I think we took a step forward in that we actually were legitimately competing for the title down the stretch. I think we will take another step forward and get it done next season.
Lots of teams were close to different results. Kansas had two last possession losses last season so by your logic they were two possessions away from winning the Big 12 by three games.

Geez, everytime you mention this I remember the @KSU game. In my dreams. In my nightmares.

you also had the WVU game at the end of the season that you had no business winning. We also lost on the Baylor buzzer beater.

Lots of "ifs" in the world, however KU pulled them out and ISU didn't.

Is that technically testing the waters now?
It's a service that's been available since at least 2011. Nice that the kids can get some feedback from a panel of NBA personnel without it being filtered/mangled by agents or coaches. It comes straight from the NBA folks to the player and gives them a pretty realistic look at their likely draft position as well as some evaluation on their perceived strengths and areas to improve and they make it available before the deadlines to withdraw from the draft if you declare. It's a tool I am surprised more coaches don't take advantage of.

Didn't ISU have a run of 5 straight games where they overcame double digit deficits? Every team had some wins they "had no business winning". At the end of the year you are what the results say you are. No sense wondering about the what if's. It will be interesting to see how both teams look next year and whether or not they are able to fill in the holes from last year without losing ground in other areas. Hogue will be a tough guy to replace, he was a scrapper that gave that team a level of toughness and determination that will be hard to replace. I am glad he's gone.

I have a feeling you're going to get really annoying on here the next couple of weeks

I take it as a good thing that you are here, being you see us as a threat or big competition. I doubt I could find you poking your head around a TTU or TCU message board...

Sounds like trolling.

Used to be we couldn't beat Kansas, so weren't a threat. Then we beat Kansas 3 out of 4 times and it's, "Yeah, you beat Kansas, but you lost in the tournament because you put all the emphasis on beating Kansas."

This SO reminds me of EIU football fans.

Teams lose in first rounds. Not the three previous years so the odds were catching up with ISU. It happens. Even to KU.

Yep totally agree. It doesn't matter if you are a 2 or 3 seed in the NCAA tourney. Loosing in the first weekend as those seeds is an embarrassment no matter what name is on your jersey. KU or ISU doesn't matter - they both sucked it up this year.

I'm sorry but Iowa State wasn't using Kansas as it's excuse to play bad against UAB. What a pathetic statement, Tuco.
You don't think ISU went out against UAB and played like they thought they were awesome enough to win with less than max effort and that part of the reason they might have felt that way was that they beat Kansas two of three during the season? I read the in-game thread. It sounded to me like a LOT of ISU fans felt that ISU didn't put it all out there that day.

If TCU or Texas Tech had a big message board that covered a wide range of Big 12 basketball topics, I would probably participate.

You have too much time on your hands.

Agreed that they didn't play like they should have or were capable of. Where you took a huge leap was equating that to it being all about KU. Newsflash: everything isn't about KU.
