Its is funny that KU has had one major flameout in Alexander and now everyone acts like a guy would be crazy to go there. Look i hate KU as much as everyone. They ha e however put a lot of dudes in the nba and won 11 straight big 12 titles. Its not like he is going to UNLV and playing for Dave Rice. Bill Self is a stud. Saying that. Diallo is an idiot for not chosing iowa state.
Yep.I agree with ya on that. And, not counting Alexander, Self has a pretty good reputation developing post players.
I just love that your username is WastedTalent and you're discussing NBA busts.Yep.
Alexander and Josh Selby were his busts. The worst part about these is it's really not the coach's fault. It's more on the recruiting services for ranking them so high. It's not the coach, except probably Dave Rice, ruins these top players, they just end up being not that good.
Even in Wiggins' case, he was heralded as the next coming of Lebron by the media, but had a pretty good, but not spectacular season. But he was a great NBA talent, so he was still drafted high.

Meh. We'll just make him regret his decision by kicking his arse a minimum of twice next year.
Agree, but wonder how this strategy works in conjunction with the constant stream of transfers. Guys that aren't guaranteed big-time guys may see how we recruit over players that aren't immediate impact. Have seen it in the transfers out and wonder if it's part of the reason we haven't had a HS recruit in so long. I still fear MT is the next to go.Sometimes (and I am going to get flamed here) I feel like we should be dumping our resources into the "4 star" guys, you know the ones who have a chip on their shoulder, that will stay 2 years plus (Monte Morris, Georges Niang) and develop into good to great players. I would love to have a 8 man rotation of these guys, and you can win a national title doing it, especially with the transfers sprinkled in. Dirty recruiting in college basketball is the worst kept secret there is and the UNC scandal being swept under the rug, as well as the NCAA likely looking the other way with UK and Calipari, (you can't tell me he is clean after 2 schools say otherwise).
Its frustrating is all I am trying to say. Its like trying to date the hottest girl in high school, and competing with everyone else. She is likely a spoiled ***** and worthless in the sack. Now her friend who is almost as hot feels like she has to work much harder and EARN what she gets.
Fastest developing big man in KU history was Embiid while Manning was at Tulsa.manning was the key to "developing" the bigs. He gone...
Diallo will be very good for Kansas. He won't tank. He has the body and energy for college basketball.
But I'd still take our bigs over theirs.
Ellis just got his information back from the NBA Undergraduate Advisory Committee and will review it with his family. Self requests this info every year for all of his players with a remote chance of going to the NBA. http://www2.kusports.com/news/2015/apr/09/perry-ellis-has-info-make-pro-decision/?mens_basketball I have seen nothing about any family financial concerns and would assume that is nonsense thrown out there in the twitter world as a possible explanation as to why Ellis might go pro despite not being expected to be drafted even close to the first round. At least until I see a legit source.
We've won 3 of the last 4 against KU. Pretty much domination.
What "bigs"? Do you really consider Nader a "big"? Or Burton? To me its like we have only two in McKay and Georges. KU has Ellis, Bragg, Traylor, Diallo, Mickelson...and that's if their done on the recruiting trail.
Have to agree with this. However, winning 3 out of the last 4 head-to-head match-ups provides me with some optimism that next season could very well be the year that we dethrone the Jayhawks!I think domination is winning the Big 12 11 years in a row.
