Chieck Diallo rumors

This should surprise nobody. There is a reason he is waiting so long to declare. He is waiting to see how the rosters for KU or UK will play out due to players declaring for the draft or transferring. The only chance ISU had at landing him was if everyone came back from KU & UK rosters and the chances of that happening were always 0%.

As opposed to Frank Mason being your point guard, Bill Self being your couch and Allen Fieldhouse being your home court? I have bias, so of course I'd pick ISU, but it should be no shock that someone with no bias picks KU over ISU.

Do I have to listen to Frank Mason rap if I go to KU?

At least this thread gave us some pretty sweet GIFs.

This has been painfully obvious for a while now, but many posters refused to admit it.

The thing about one-and-dones is that you rarely seem them be "great" in college since they're just freshmen. Don't get me wrong, some are great and most are difference makers, but you can get as much bang for your buck with a kid like Boucher that has already developed and grown some. While I'd love to get Diallo, if we can get Boucher, he probably has more immediate impact for us, especially on the offensive end. Diallo would be a better pro, but provides less immediate lift for where our holes are, in my opinion.

Diallo will be very good for Kansas. He won't tank. He has the body and energy for college basketball.

But I'd still take our bigs over theirs.

But landing a big one leads to landing more in the future. That's the corner we haven't turned yet.

Fred will figure it out, but it still sucks. Especially if he goes to Kansas.

Sometimes (and I am going to get flamed here) I feel like we should be dumping our resources into the "4 star" guys, you know the ones who have a chip on their shoulder, that will stay 2 years plus (Monte Morris, Georges Niang) and develop into good to great players. I would love to have a 8 man rotation of these guys, and you can win a national title doing it, especially with the transfers sprinkled in. Dirty recruiting in college basketball is the worst kept secret there is and the UNC scandal being swept under the rug, as well as the NCAA likely looking the other way with UK and Calipari, (you can't tell me he is clean after 2 schools say otherwise). Its frustrating is all I am trying to say. Its like trying to date the hottest girl in high school, and competing with everyone else. She is likely a spoiled ***** and worthless in the sack. Now her friend who is almost as hot feels like she has to work much harder and EARN what she gets.
No. It's not like Diallo is the ONLY player ISU is recruiting and spending time recruiting him is costing them other recruits. You are going to miss on the majority of players you recruit. To go back to your dating analogy. If the ONLY person you ask out is the hottest girl in school then you're probably going to spend your school year alone but if you ask out 30 girls, including the ten hottest ones, then odds are that eventually you are going to have a hot girlfriend unless there is something wrong with you. There's nothing fundamentally wrong with ISU that prevents them from being a landing spot for these elite kids. You don't quit after two say "no thank you".

Alright, TuCo (if that's who this really is). That is a somewhat reasonable and fairly thoughtful answer to a sorta silly analogy. Any chance you would switch? Michelle Bachmann's husband has a program that could assist.

Well - he can win with us, or lose to us. His choice.

Meh....KU will be stacked on frontcourt with Diallo Bragg and Ellis. They will also likely land either Zimmerman and Thorne.

They are also returning a lot of players (besides Oubre Alexander) such as Graham, Selden, Svi, Greene, Traylor, Lucas, Mickleson, etc.

Anything less than another big 12 conference title and a final four run will be disappointing with a blue blood program that stacked and a coach as reputable as Selfish. It seems he tries to keep his players their which is respectable at least as Alexander was essentially forced out.
