I live 150 miles from Ames and am strongly considering attending the Spring game. My motivation is to get a look at the SEZ project with a possibility of purchasing seats and an eye ball of the club section. Does anyone know if any marketing will be done during the Spring game of that area? I have looked at the ISU athletic site and about the only info is that a Grid Iron Spring game will be held at 1 pm. What's a Grid Iron Club, by the way, there is no mention of what it has to do with the Spring game or what it is. Kinda interesting to me how low key the whole affair is with a couple of days off until the event. I have expected by now that a thread about the Spring game would appear on CF by now but this has got to be the least publicized event of the Rhoads era. I know that we are not at the level of our neighbor, Nebby, who sells out their stadium and even has ticket scalping at the Spring game......but I hope we have not crawled back to the level of enthusiasm of the Criner/Walden years.

gridiron club is u give $100 or more amd u attend certain functions thought the year, including a secret closed scrimmage. I too love 150 miles and will be going to spring game. Haven't missed one in 20 years. And no...we are not even close to the walden years. You think the last two years of fball was bad, during Walden tenure we lost to Drake....Drake. Arguably the worst loss in college football history.

A search for "Cyclone Gridiron Club" on Google should take you to their home page.

11:00 A.M. - Tailgate - "sneak peek of 2015 Cyclone football team, catch a glimpse of ... stadium renovations, ... purchase gridiron merchandise, hear remarks from CPR around noon."

2015 Football team posters available at tables on the NE concourse.

Admission is free. Tailgate meal is $10 for adults, $5 for high schoolers and younger.

Gear from Cy's Locker Room will be available for purchase.

I live 776 miles from Ames and I too am strongly considering attending the spring game. Who cares about Criner/Walden years. Crying about it solves nothing. Lets look forward and see what we can do this year.

Hope you can make the game, Ace. I am not "crying" about anything just observing the current luke warm atmosphere surrounding the football program in regard to the general fanbase. The past two years are in the rear-view mirror but remain to be the silent elephant in the room. CPR is a good coach or he would not have wins in Lincoln and Austin which very few coaches have on their resume. I am going to the game to see if the infusion of JC players on defense and bigger running backs will equate on the field to bring ISU up to a higher level to compete in the Big 12. Reality is that Pollard has put together the pieces to compete with excellent facilities, the question is will the fans show up.

I live in DSM and I am not fair weather when it comes to anything Cyclones except for the Spring Game. If the weather is nice, I will be there. Looks good right now. Phone says Ames is looking at 68 degrees for the high and only 9% chance of precipitation on Saturday. Hopefully it stays that way.

The Greater Des Moines Cyclone Club will also have a tailgate for the game Saturday. Please stop into Lot B6. We will have our banners up. There will be beer, tailgate snacks, and water (While all lasts) available for free.

This is from the website:

Get ready for football season and come join the GDMCC before the Cyclone Gridiron Club Spring Game on April 11, 2015! Stop by Lot B6 between the Iowa State Center and Jack Trice Stadium and join in the festivities at the Greater Des Moines Cyclone Club tailgate. We will have snacks and beverages (while they last). The tailgate will begin at 11 a.m.
Also, as part of Cy's Days of Service, we will be collecting canned goods for the DMARC food pantry. So stop by for some food, a beverage or two and drop off your canned goods before the Spring Game!

If you are seriously considering tickets for the Sukup End Zone Club and called ahead, I wouldn't be surprised if they arranged for you to talk to someone on Saturday.

Don't admit that you don't know what the Gridiron Club is. It suggests that you have never paid attention in the spring or summer before.

I live down in Norwalk and am super excited to bring the Ames Tailgate Machine out of storage and tailgate Saturday morning. It looks like it will be a great day. For those that haven't been to a spring game before, make sure to pace your beverage intake as they do not provide portable toilets and you have to walk into the stadium to use the restrooms and I believe they do not open the gates until an hour before the game starts (or atleast they did not have them last year). Just a FYI.

Will they play 1 vs 1 and 2 v 2?
I don't think they keep score, just run sets of plays, right?
Any key players out with injury?

The question is....will we win more than 2 games.

I'm going to take it that the "game" will be played at one end of the stadium, because of the construction outside the S end zone.

We have our own network and they aren't even showing the spring game? Is it only available on the radio?
