Phone Upgrade: The Decision

The S6 is going to be the best phone on the market when it's released but it will have a couple drawbacks with the new design. No expandable memory and no replaceable battery are two issues that would keep me from buying this phone. I'll probably wait until the S7 when they bring them back because of the negative feedback they'll receive for not including these two features. Expandable memory is a must for me.

Same here. I get why they don't include it (cost, size, weight, etc) but I really like that ability

I just switched from a Galaxy to the new Iphone 6. I love it so much more. Id say if you have a mac computer, having an Iphone is amazing with syncing and all. If you dont have a mac laptop, its a tossup

Both phones are great and youll be happy with either.

Just pre-ordered two Galaxy S6 Edge's. $300 ea with 2 year contract. Delivery is on or before April 10th.

@00Clone - both sides have their fanboys who will exhibit that EXACT same behavior. This arguement about which is better will NEVER be settled. Your coworker story is purely an anedote of personal experience. I've seen the exact same from HTC, Samsung, etc fan boys.
Agreed.

I read that post and thought to myself "Pot, I'd like to introduce you to Kettle."

Same for me. When I got my iPad 4 it was by far the best tablet for what I wanted to do. Once I did that, getting an iPhone next because of the ability to sync and have everything on both devices was a big thing for me.

Rumor is Apple is going to invent wireless charging in Q3 of 2017. They'll sell millions! :jimlad:

Except they'll completely ignore the fact that there's a well established charging standard and develop their own. That'll allow them to sell the chargers for $100 each.

But yes, you're right they'll still sell millions

I had three good games on iPhone, 2 aren't on Android at all and one is worse. If there are now more on Android it's likely because they let everything on. I've deleted 3 times as many Android aps for sucking than I did on Apple.

Do you want a pat on the back or something?

Seriously they are games. Maybe I still look at it as too much of a utility but games are pretty meh to me. I think I have one on my phone. The rest of the apps (maybe 15 or so) fall into the utility category.

Haven't read the whole thread but here's my opinion.

I was an Android user for a few years. I had the Samsung Galaxy S for a couple years and then switched over to the S3 when it came out. Both of those phones constantly froze and apps randomly quit. None of the apps for finding a lost phone were reliable. I also couldn't stand the keyboard and the lack of auto correct. The battery life was good and the camera quality, especially on the S3, was fantastic.

I switched over to the iPhone 5S about a year and a half ago, and I have no intentions of ever switching back to Android. The Touch ID is one of my favorite features. It's incredibly easy to download and sync music, pictures, and video. The camera quality is great. The "Find my iPhone" feature is awesome. I haven't had any problems with freezing or apps randomly quitting. And it "just works" with the rest of my Apple products - I can browse for something on my Mac and then pull the webpage up on my phone. It's also great because my iPhone and iPad use the same charger, so if I lose one I always have a backup. Through US Cellular, iPhones also have the ability to be used as a Mobile Hotspot. I wasn't able to use the feature on any Android phone.

tl;dr = Team iPhone

You are an *** hat. I posted my opinion and people questioned it so I added specifics. I don't care what you use your phone for, the less you do the less the difference will matter. Stop taking different opinions so personally.

Ironic way to start and end a post.

Just came in to see if y'all are still flailing away at each other. Seems so. Keep at it, then.

I got the new droid a few months ago. If US Cellular hadn't messed up my data and billing for the 3rd time I would have never switched to Verizon. Someone was commenting about battery life and when I first got the droid could go easily 2+ days with normal use. But after few months down to 1 1/2 days.

If you don't like the galaxy phones, but want Android, I would recommend the HTC One. I went from the Evo to the S4 and I hated it. Even putting my own loader and configuring the crap out of it, I couldn't get it where I wanted. The HTC just makes sense to me.

The US Cellular store near me has display models of the Galaxy S6 & Galaxy S6 Edge. Both are really nice phones. I just spend some time there messing with both.

I'm a pretty hardcore Android OS fan. I just like the customization options and openness of it. However I have always liked the hardware of the Iphones. So with the S6 I'm glad there is a device running Android that feels as high quality as the hardware of the Iphones.

Disappointed they took away the removable battery, expandable storage, and even the waterproof rating which the S5 had. But these are things I personally can go without. I've also read online that there is a possible Galaxy S6 "active" which could come out this summer and will have all of those things included. Nothing confirmed though.
