**** Official Transfer List '15 ****

We still need one more post who can contribute some quality minutes. Obviously, Diallo is target A No. 1, but that might not work out for whatever reason, so I'm sure there's a backup plan.

Niang is going to play 30-35 MPG next year, and McKay his standard 25-30, so there's going to 15-20 minutes of post time up for grabs at the 4-5 spot. Sure, Williams might be a good "poor man" Niang with the height and the outside game, and Fred might just go Hoiball with a four-guard lineup at times (Morris, Cooke, Long, Burton, and Niang is a frightening amount of speed and shooting, though not a ton of defense), but one more might be in order.

The big key will be Diallo, so I don't see us taking an immediate big man until after Diallo decides (should he go elsewhere).

If the right guard comes available, I could see us jumping in right after the tourney.

Two senior-to-be bigs from Charlotte are transferring:
6'11" 270 Mike Thorne, grad transfer and eligible next year, averaged around 10 and 7.
6'8" 240 Willie Clayton, averaged 11 and 9 as a sophomore.

Both will likely end up at high majors IMO.

Yeah...if we don't get Diallo than Nader will eat up those minutes and then some (moving Niang or Nader to the 3 spot at times).

SIAP, but another coveted 5th year will he Shonn Miller. 6'7" forward from Cornell averaged 16 and 8.5. Has a year of eligibility, but Ivy League rules do not allow graduate students to play.

I would love to get this kid just to have hawk fans try to call an Ivy grad a "thug transfer"

We need a shooter that defend at the 3 spot.

Burton should be able to D up at the 3 spot. We will see if he can shoot well. His 3 pt % at Marquette was pretty decent, but he shot such a low volume that it's really hard to tell what he'll bring from outside the arc.

I wouldn't be surprised if the takes a lot more with us though. Similar to Hogue.

Fred isn't going to take that chance. Next year has everything in place but a reliable shooter at the three and another solid big. Hopefully Cooke will be a better option as Morris' relief besides sharing minutes at the 2 with Long because we aren't going to be able bring in a quality point until Morris is done.

What makes you think he believes he is taking a chance?
A three point shooting 3 is likely 3rd or 4th on the "needs" list IMO.

Need a long term big to fill the huge gap for after next year when McKay and Georges are gone. Would like to see someone come in next year in a back up roll that can move into the starting line up in 16-17. Unless the Greek makes some huge strides.

The folk in the athletic department here in Corvallis think very highly of Cooke's PG abilities. They all assumed he would start next year until I told them we already have a pretty decent PG.

My bad. 4.4 per game. 7.08 per 40. Still leading the nation though.

I'm sure Fred already knows about him and has a pretty good idea from Otz re: whether he would fit in here. He would only have one year after sitting out next year as he already burned up a red shirt. Would be nice to have a shot blocker after McKay graduates. Fred will sort it out.

Fred may not be taking a chance. He's been watching Burton work out for a couple of months now.

Also, Williams is sort of a 3/4 type player.

I tend to think if we bring in anyone, it would be a big man (if Diallo goes somewhere else), or a combo guard that can shoot.

Bruton a slasher/ Nader inconsistant at best. Do you even watch CBB?
Fred has had a year to see what Abdel can do from long range and he isn't going to bank a chance at a National Championship run on it. I guarantee this team will add a minimum of another big and a three point shooter that can defend the 3...Bet Yo House!

We have twos and are adding Cooke.
